My X-Box is making a weird rattling sound whenever it is on. I went up close to it and found out it was the little box thing that sits next to the X-Box (pictured). An orange light is on it and I was wondering what is wrong with it? It was bought first hand pretty recently

I don't think it would be that box. Try moving it away then checking again as it could be one of the fans in the xbox.

No the fans make a much smoother sound (I put my ear right up to the box thingy.) It is now starting to make a revving noise wqhen I turn the Xbox on

That doesn' seem good... I'd look into getting it repaired or replaced.

Does it make the noise continuously during Xbox use? Sounds like it is on its way out.

If it's bought first hand, take it back to the shop and replace it.

something like that happend to my xbox and it was just the power brick. try swaping with a frend and if it dosent make the noise just by a new power brick.
