I have been buildng and painting for so long I am losing intrest. I am sick of painting plague marines (no pun intended) and even made some mid heresy death guard because I was so bored. Has Opa Nurgle forsaken me or am I just losing intresting in the hobby. I found intrest in other armys but just dont feel the same anymore with. I think I will stop for about two weeks till somthing comes to mind.

I don't know about 40k but you are definitely losing interest in correct spelling and grammar.

You have lost interest in Chaos. Why not try Orks? Orks are fun to model, paint and play. Also, they have a similar take on grammar and spelling as yours.

I've lost interest in playing the game ever since 5th edition came out. However, when it comes to painting I find that it helps to just change what your painting every now and then. Its probably why I have 5 different armies.

And when I get sick of painting 28mm stuff, I break out the 1/6 scale resin anime garage kits. Changing stuff up and challenging your self with something new can really help keep your interest in tact.

Yeah, it's burnout. Happens sooner or later for everyone. I've comletely lost and later regained interest in 40k on three different occasions over the last 5 years. There was a 6 month period in which I did nothing at all - no painting, no gabbing, no list planning, no playing. Nothing.

In your case, you appear to go for much longer stretches. Don't feel bad about it, though. 40k is a durable good. All those plague marines will still be there waiting when you return.

My interest is in gaming in general, not 40K specifically. So when I get bored with 40K I switch to WHFB, Warmachine, Mordheim, LotR, WotR or Bloodbowl.

Maybe try that?

Based on the fact that you have 12000 points of Nurgle and 2000 points of Tzeentch, I'd guess you're tired of chaos. You also mentioned that you were tired of painting. If you weren't in to the gaming aspect of the hobby, maybe that's worth looking into as well. Personally, I don't enjoy the building/painting aspect so much as playing the game itself.

It happens I've got a bit burnt out of 40K so I'm trying other games from other companies, ir's a lot of fun, and hey 6th ed and a new chaos book are on the horizon that'll help!

Have you lost interest in gaming, or does 40K not draw you in anymore? Could be you've outgrown it somewhat.

Shift onto playing other Games and systems. Look through and concentrate on some of the GW specialist games - Epic (hugely tactical over 40k), BFG (which you already play by the look of it), Blood Bowl (great fun and cheap), etc. How about trying different universes and games such as Warmachine, Dust, Dystopian Wars, etc.

Nurgle losing interest in Warhammer? Good news for the Imperium, I guess!

Seriously though, this happens all the time when it comes to hobbies. You shouldn't force yourself though; spend your time doing other things and perhaps, your spirit will return after some time. Works for me.

Painting a different army, playing different games (be them miniatures, card, video or RPG) and reading books all work good for recharging your batteries. Most of all, take your time, you shouldn't force yourself into 40K, GW isnt worth that.

Bad with spelling... Sorry just bad with this sort of thing.

You're lucky you managed to paint that many before burning out. I finish one model and have to swap projects. Looking at my cabinet I have 2 Sanguinary Guard painted. 6 Cadian vets. 3 Vostroyans. Calgar but no retinue. It's awful I have around 3 painted models and 7 bare plastic in each squad.

I traded my orks for a old mauser rifle.... I stil have my bad moon strike force but it just is not somthing im proud of. They are ment to be rich so I gave them more upgrades instead of more models..... only have 750 base ork points and wiht the upgrades I have anywhere from 1k to 1.5k

I painted them with my quick method. The special wash/ink/oil (what ever they call it now) I use is 1:5 Spehia (Gryffon) 3:5 thrakka green 1:5 Ogryn flesh and a drop of badab black. I mix up then let sit. I simply apply that to the base model painted a few pukey hues then paint the metal and gun and im done. Each model is about 15-25 mins each. PS sorry about spelling and grammar I dont know why but that has always been my weak point.

I feel your pain. I've lost a lot of interest in 40K due to revised/trashed codices that IMHO just SUCK. Starting with the current C:CSM dex and running on through 'Nids, Sisters, and most recently Nehekharons. And those were just the armies I personally own, to say nothing of other codices I have to face, which have been discussed to death and are mostly due to Him-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

If Space Marines and IG go the same way on their next revisions (I've already given up on CSM), E-Bay will be getting a lot of new business.

I feel the same way I just get above those bad rules and play (luckily) with my Bro we use older codexes. Some times we have to twist the rules but it's just a game! Oh did I say I hate Matt Ward and he must burn in hell?

Maybe you could try Warhammer Fantasy as a side project?

When I hit the painting wall I tend to take a week or two to build terrain and/or display boards for my armies.

Try Warmachine, or Infinity, or Dust Tactics

Play Blood Bowl for a bit, I have never known another Wargame that results in so much shouting, screaming and Laugh out loud moments.

You forget about the setting and game and everything, it is probably the best Specialist Game (Maybe tied with SPace Hulk).

But Nurgle loves you???

Just a quick update guys, Ive taken your advice and so I have been doing gunsmithing and attempting to create a Nurgle-ish planet or garden of Nurgle sort of thing. Thanks for the support!
