And this is my first post! I have a ~2500 point Guard army and I just got my first Basilisk for it. I decided that the gun looked too boring so I hacked up an Eradicator cannon from a Russ and glued it onto the end as a compensator. It's not painted yet, but it looks pretty darn cool

Nice.

Three things that I'd note:

- there is a little widget that fits into that cog on the side of the cannon (the sprocket with a hole in it). Looks like the kind of thing you use to open or close a hatch.

- why on earth does a basilisk have a heavy stubber?

- I don't know if it's just the camera angle here, but it sort of looks like he's staring at the ground. Actually, it looks like he took a break from looking at the enemy and decided to use his magnoculars to scope out the ample posteriors of some sisters of battle just right over there.

Looks Good -

@Ailaros - I'd say the stubber is for the same reason US Palidans have M2's - protection from aircraft, infiltrators, and cause it looks kick ass.

Ok, that third bit is my humble opinion.

Thanks That little widget is a crank and I put it on the other side of the basilisk because it had a spot for both the cog and the crank and I didn't like how the crank looked ontop of the gear. I'll probably fill the little gap it left there with some green stuff or something.

Why on earth doesn't your basilisk have a heavy stubber? It has farther range than a storm bolter and I just like the nostalgic feel of having a 20th century ma deuce on my 41st millenium vehicles

He tipped over slightly when I was gluing him to the platform haha. I couldn't get him to stay standing up straight unless I had him standing right up against the rail, and his hand would've been hanging way over it and it would've probably looked worse. It looks fine if you're not studying the model and the camera doesn't do it any justice at all cause it's a crappy 4 year old cell phone cam.

Glad to see that great minds think alike - I too hacked up the Eradicator cannon as a muzzle brake on my Basilisk.

I'm thrilled I'm not the only one who thought it'd look awesome! If/when I get another Basi, I'm probably gonna do the same thing to it. Those big tubes look so plain without them.

Thanks dudebros. I'm gonna paint it soon, it's definitely got priority over most of my unpainted models now
