I think our next local league is going to be 1750. I've been running double stormravens for the last few months in prep for our Adepticon team armies, which was fun, but is a gamblers' army. It tends to come up big or crash and burn. And it really gets screwed going second if the stormravens show up one at a time from Reserve.
Anyway, this list is less all-out aggression, more like my usual style: a mix of shooting and assault, with lots of maneuverability. And it's all move & fire, capable of operating fine going second and coming from the table edge. The LR and Predators can give cover to the light vehicles, thus making everything a bit more durable, as the priest does for the AMs.
Thoughts?
Librarian, jump pack, Unleash Rage and probably Shield (any votes for Fear? Or other stuff?) - 125
Sang Priest w/Lightning Claw - 65
9 Death Company, Thunder Hammer, Power Fist - 235
Landraider w/multimelta, extra armor, searchlight - 276
10 Assault Marines, power fist, 2 meltaguns - 235
5 Assault Marines, meltagun, power weapon - 125
Razorback w/dozer, searchlight, las & plas - 61
5 Assault Marines, flamer - 120
Razorback w/dozer, searchlight, las & plas - 61
2x Typhoons, TML & HB - 180
Predator with AC turret, las sponsons, dozer, searchlight - 141

Shiled and Rage are always my go to powers...some love Blood Lance though.
I would drop the LC from the Priest and PW from the Razorback unit and give 2 PWs to the DC unit...these are the guys you want in combat anyway.
Another topic for discussion, is whether you think Vindicators or Preds are better options to use. I'm more a fan of Vindicators if you are moving up to assault range and Preds if you are hanging back shooting.
Overall, a pretty interesting list. I love seeing Death Company.

Thanks, yeah. I like the Preds over Vindicators in part to match up better with GK and Necrons. They equal the range of Psyflemen, and can potentially work for a turn or two while outside the effective range of 24" enemy guns like Psycannons and Gauss.

Looks like a competitive list.
One question: Why not have some Baal Predators in there? I find fast vehicles outflanking with Assault/Flamestorm cannons to be highly worrisome. I know you've got some searchlights but, as we all know, there's going to be a fair amount of Nightfighting going on in tournament play. Baal Preds would serve two functions: They can easily get their SL onto enemy units by either scouting or outflanking, as well as potentially causing the opponent to bunch up toward the middle of the table making them easy pickings for a DC multi-assault.
Just my $.02.

Looks like it could be a good time. I am a big fan of Fear, just because I love forcing checks.
Also, you spent 10 extra points on your typhoon squadron.

I take Fear and Shield myself. My list is like yours, absolutely drowning in anti-tank, so Blood Lance isn't needed, and I don't have much need for UR, so Fear it is. Plus it's a nice tool to have for Draigowing, Orks, maybe DE Beasts (they aren't Fearless, are they?). I really wish Wraiths weren't Fearless.
I'm not sure how well the 10 man Assault Squad fits though.

I am thinking your assault marines would like to have the priest with them. Whereas they may not need the librarian, whose shield would be good in a tank.
Otherwise like it. Dozer blades may be better on the razorbacks, preds tend to stay back away not needing to move through terrain.

Pretty well most of the time. Sometimes they have a crap game, but they usually eat at least one unit and give me some positional advantage as they advance and my opponent is forced to respect the threat. Whenever I can get a multi-charge they usually eat multiple things. Automatically Appended Next Post: Monster Rain wrote:One question: Why not have some Baal Predators in there? I do want to try out a Baal or two at some point, but I think they'd be better in a different list. Probably combined with drop pods to make a serious turn 1 threat and hopefully give my opponent''s meltas too much to deal with at once. I don't know if they really help me on the Searchlight front; if they Outflank they're not showing up until T2 at the earliest, by which point I should be able to have the LR or something forward if needed. I do like the flexibility of the Outflank option though, and the synergy you mentioned of encouraging people to bunch up in the middle is definitely worth exploring. Yeah, Fear might make sense in this list. I like UR because it makes the assault squad into a genuine assault threat in combination with the priest. I wiped out a unit of Strikes on the charge in my one game so far with this list. But Fear can pay off big.
Typo! I actually spent the right points for the squad this time though. Automatically Appended Next Post: MrEconomics wrote:I take Fear and Shield myself. Agreed. It can be a great answer to a big expensive nasty enemy unit if it works.

Could swap them for a squad in Rhino, and have the Libby Fear out the hatch, maybe. The Lib's jump pack pays for the Rhino with some points left over.

I'm also interested at how the 10 jump pack troops fit in, along with where the priest goes- in one of the razorbacks? I would have thought similarly, that the priest would have gone with them, rather than the librarian (but I guess Unleash Rage is better with them than in a razorback).

Well, UR only works if you're in the unit. Really the squad will almost always stay in Priest radius as well.
MFletch wrote:Otherwise like it. Dozer blades may be better on the razorbacks, preds tend to stay back away not needing to move through terrain.
I love dozers on both. For the preds it means I don't care about driving up difficult hills or ruins or woods or whatever to get a better firing position and/or let the transports go past.

Maybe not with the Outflanking, but the scout moves definitely would help in that regard if you're going first.
But I'll leave it alone now.
