BTD has just put back into production some of their sci-fi line that's been gone for a while.

I have the space dwarves from when they were available a few years back and they are quite nice. They really fit in well with quilted jackets and caps of the early squat asthetic. There are 9 different sculpts.

Also, they have brought back some of their starship marines.

Not quite up to modern marine standards, but pretty sharp, with a nice old-school look. 6 sculpts so far, but I think there may be others. There's also some IG types and some large wardroids.

BTD had some trouble in the past with order fulfillment, but folks over at TMP are reporting that they are doing good this last year (possibly new employees....)

Also, most packs are less than 8 bucks for 3 figs!

I'm actually quite impressed with the look of the Imperial Guard -esque minis. I'd love to know about size comparisons and quality of the sculpts. Has anyone ordered some of these?

I wish miniature companies would learn that if you want to sell me your models on the internet I'm going to need to see very large pictures.

100% to scale is nowhere near big enough for me to make a decision. Shame because they look quite cool.

While small pictures are irritating, its not nearly as bad as companies that don't bother taking photographs of their miniatures. Do they honestly expect potential customers to purchase their products without at least seeing them first...

The not-squats look great, im tempted to purchase them but with all the bad press BTD have received im going to be extremely cautious about ordering from them.

BTD used to be based in the UK, now it appears to be based in Texas. There must have been pretty big changes. I looked through TMP and found only good reviews since they made whatever changes they made.

I'd email and ask if they would accept paypal. Paypal has excellent buyer protection. How good your credit card company will back you in a case of non-delivery of goods is on a case-by-case basis.

If they say no paypal, tell them, "Okay, I'll order from somewhere else. Thanks for your time."

Those really are quite nice Squats. I wonder who the sculptor is, there's something very RT-era GW about them. Considering how expensive the real thing tends to be on ebay these days, these would make a nice cheap addition.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I think these are the same pictures they've used for well over a decade. As you say, it's a shame, as it's a really easy way to get more sales

I'm pretty sure they date back to the time of RT. They're a pretty blatant clone/tribute to the early RT style squats.

They appear to now be functioning as two separate entities. One in UK/europe and one in Texas. I'm not sure if they've got two production lines though. I'm still a bit warry, but the TMP reports are pretty good, and I could use a couple more squats....

The not-Squats aren't nice IMO, even by dwarven standard the proportions look off (tiny legs).

The Marines are nice, the Wardroid and Combatdroid on their site are really nice though. They look like one f he illustrations from the robot section of RT.

They appear to have separate websites for different nations, when I went to the checkout it redirected me to a UK one with a UK postal Address.

Looks like they have someone manufacturing under licence in the States.

That makes sense.

And bodes well. I'm going to double check with my CC company and find out about their buyer protection.
