Ok so im making this 2k army but I dont know what I should take as Heavy support as of now I have 2 options.

option one:
LR detected transport for a squad of assault terms.
Pred 1 AC with HB
Pred 2 AC with HB
Vind dozer blade and sgt Chronus

option two:
LR detected transport for a squad of assault terms.
Pred 1 AC with HB
Vind dozer blade
Vind dozer blade and sgt Chronus

In order to get option 2 I would also need to drop a HB from a Rhino transport, which no big deal.

So what does dakkadakka think?

Don't take chronic he is way to expensive for what he does. Use his points to get a lands peeper or something. I'd go with option 2 vindicators are high priority targets to you opponents (almost to the point of being irrationally so) you need more than 1 to get a shot off.

I was thinking option 2 as well i had heard with 2 vinds you really can put pressure on your enemy, i just really wanna keep chronus i mean he makes the tank immune to stuns and shaken effects and gives them a BS skill of 5

You don't need bs5 on a vindi since it's a template. It is to much to pay for what it gives you.

this is a good rule for life. Chronic is bad for your health. But he's right Chronus would be better in your pred but he's not worth it in general IMO. I would rather spend the points on razorbacks. But as far as options go it really depends on what your fighting. I would take two preds vs dark eldar but two vindis vs MEQ's.

I agree chronos is'nt worth it but vindicators brillient at hitting where they want which is important in tank duels, against infantry its hard to go wrong. I'd replace Chronos with some lascannon upgrades for the preditor in option 2 for spme more accurate and reliable anti-tank. It could be argued that HBs and ACs are needs for killing troops but you have 2 super powered vindicators for that.

Ok so option 2 would be the logical choice, should i just keep the LR with its las cannon then too, or change it to a LRC?

This is a slightly important question.

Personaly i prefer the LRR not the LRC but it depends on the player and the opponents , in other words whatever LR works best.

HQ:
Chaplain, Term armor: 130
Captain, Term armor, SB, PW, 140

Troops:
Tac Squad 1, Melta, Flamer: 175
Rhino transport, HB: 45
Tac Squad 2, Melta, Flamer: 175
Rhino transport, HB: 45
Scout squad, Telion, Camo, 3 Sniper rifles, 1 ML and Telion:147

Elites:
Assault Term, TH/SS on all: 200
Land raider transport: 250
Term, SB and PF on all: 200
Dreadnought, Assault cannon SB: 115

Heavy support:
Predator 1, AC, HB: 85
Vind 1 DB 120
Vind DB 120

Total: 1937
leftover: 63

chaplain would be attached to the assault term squad and thrown into the LR
Captain would be put with Term squad.

Basic strategy:
Vindicators focuses on Their tanks .
predator main purpose is to stun crews and provide fire support where needed.
LR with Assault terms pushed forward unloading the Terms so keep enemy occupied.
scout Squad focuses elite units or other snipers
Tac squad 1 and 2 will either capture objectives as needed or flank from right and left on enemy, or keep reinforcements away.
The captain and dreadnought will follow behind and go where needed.

Ok well here is my 2k list then

Use remaining points to have extra armour on the dreadnought, landraider and one of the vinds.
Also will your term armour captain ( who you may want to give pistol for more CC attacks) be in a squad?
If he is just by the dreadought on his own he will be picked off quickly by instant-death shots.

No the captain will be the the Term squad and the chaplain will be with the assault term squad
