After taking a long break from my Necrons after losing some of them in wreck last year, I finally decided to pick up the new Codex and give it a read. A lot of the new changes, units and abilities I really liked, especially Imotekh the Stormlord. After giving it some thought, I decided to go with this for my army.

HQ
Imotekh the Stormlord

Necron Overlord
- Smpiternal Weave
- Res. Orb
- Phase Shifter
Total: 405 pts.

Royal Court 1
Cryptek
- Harbinger of Eternity
- Crhonometron

Royal Court 2
Necron Lord
- Sempiternal Weave
- Res. Orb
- Phase Shifter
Total: 165 pts.

Troops
Necron Warriors x10

Necron Warriors x10

Necron Immortals x10
- Tesla Carbine

Necron Immortals x10
- Tesla Carbine
Total: 600 pts.

Elites
Lychguard x5
- Hyperpahse Sword and Dispersion Shields

Lychguard x5
- Hyperphase Sword and Dispersion Shields
Total: 450 pts.

Fast Attack
Canoptek Scarabs x5

Canoptek Scarabs x5
Total: 405 pts.

If I did my math right, should 1995pts in total. I really like the idea of Night Fighting and Imotekh was the only HQ that stood out to me, so he was a no brainer to me. The Cryptek I plan on keeping with Imotekh, in case I fail the Night Fight roll, Chronometron will give the chance to re-roll. The Necron Overlord I was planning on putting with a squad of Lychguard, and adding the Lord to the other squad.

My plan is to move my units of Immortals and Lychguard up the board under cover of the night, with the Night Fight rules hopefully keeping them safe from enemy shooting for a turn or two. My Immortals will be taking advantage of cover while moving. The Lychguard I plan on keeping near in case the enemy gets to close to my Immortals. Essentially being used as a deterrent. The Warriors I plan on using for objective camping, and the Scarabs for tank hunting.

Note: This is my first time posting here, and first time posting a list. If I made a mistake in the format of it, please let me know. Also, I'm not much of a competitive player, I'm mainly building the list for fun games with friends.

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

Formatting is just fine.
However, there is one glaring issue with the list, anti-tank

10 bases of scarabs is not gonna be enough anti-tank at 2000 points.
I'd completely drop the lord and a group of lychguard, maybe increase the OL's group to 7.
Grab some lanceteks to help pop transports, you should be able to grab several, and could stand to have as many as two in each troop choice, since you have two courts.
You could, if not keen on royal courts, drop the OL, grab a regular lord under immotehk's court with a scythe, mss, and orb for 90 points, and free up even more points to boost up your anti armor.
If you want to keep your vanilla OL, give him a scythe, yes, he can't shoot anymore, but hitting at str 7, with a power weapon leaves a mark in melee. Also MSS! If you are lucky, his big-bad HQ will assault and fail leadership, and kill himself, both are very much worth their points

Hmm, if I was running Chrono-Imotekh, I'd want to abuse the cover night fight would give me as much as possible.
Being the case, the things at the top of my "must include" list would be:
-Overlord with Warscythe on Command Barge
-Wraiths (two maxed out units)
-Scarabs (lots of them, maybe with a few Spyders as back up)
-Doom Scythes (at least two)
-Lychguard + Warscythe Lord (with Mindshackle Scarabs and ResOrb, of course), possibly in a Night Scythe

That way I'd have all my bases covered (anti-CC, anti-armor), as well as ensuring all my units wouldn't have to worry about night fight hindering their effectiveness.

This doesn't have a heavy support contingent. Some of our most effective troops are in heavy support. We're usually in a quandry over whether to take Annihilation Barges or Canoptic Spyders, and that's an interesting debate, but you probably want to take some of one or the other. They both give you an AT capability (Spyders semi-indirectly but they'll work as can-openers too) and "mass".

In most cases we'd probably want to go with AB's, but a night-fight army is inherently CC oriented and you're also a "deferred action" force, in that the longer the game goes on the more Imotekh's random attrition will affect the enemy. In that case, where you're going to be doing the opposite of alpha-striking, a scarab/spyder setup is good.

Scarab farming has sort of fallen out of favor lately, but trust me - anyone who has armored units knows *exactly* where those little buggers are at all times.

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

I've been pretty happy with 2 barges and 3 spyders, myself.

Plus, you never know when you're going to need a Gloom Prism. Warp Rift and JotWW can put a real hurtin' on your army.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'll look over everything and make some changes to it.
