Welcome! In my first post I was hoping to show the progress thus far on my three 40k armies I am working on; Salamanders, Chaos Daemons, and Alaitoc Eldar. Unfortunately I am still trying to optimise my setup for taking photos but I am getting there. So instead I practiced taking shots on my WIP Arwen. I have a lot of random things I am working on in addition to the 40k stuff, which I should try to avoid as it impedes my progress. So I will just post these for now and have the other photos ready shortly. This is my first attempt at trying to document what I am working on, hence the bad camera skills.

Amazing work!

I can't wait to see more of your work!

Keep it up!

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

Ok I have sorted out some of the lighting issues, I need to grab Photoshop to tweak the brightness but I guess this will do for now. Here are my Salamanders that I have painted thus far.

Vulkan He'stan - Likes flaming things and long walks next to lava flows. Dislikes Powerfists and Thunder Hammers in his grill.

Castellan Crowe - My counts as Librarian (My first Finecast too, only problem luckily was his droopy sword, can't go into battle with a floppy one so I fixed it with a hairdryer )

Terminator Assault Squad - With token d00d riding a lava rock into battle as Salamanders seem to do often.

Rhino - *Yawn*, these things are boring to paint. So much so I haven't painted the Tac squad for it.

Sternguards - Veterans from centuries of combat, when placed in my command die turn 1. They should give scouts the combi-weapons and strap them in the drop pod, just call it a training exercise. "Ok guys, aim for the house-sized behemoths bearing down on you as soon as the hatch opens".

Next on the agenda for these guys will be the Tactical Squad, Land Raider Redeemer and Bray'arth Ashmantle. I will post the start of my Alaitoc Eldar too, I have one completed Wraithlord and a WIP War Walker.

Thanks for the compliments progreen10, JBrehaut and JohnnoM.

Here are some WIP shots for the remainder of my salamanders 1500pt army. Hopefully I can get them done quick and get to work on my Daemons and Eldar ( I forgot to include the assembled rhino, probably on purpose ).

This looks as boring as it was for me to assemble them!

The Sarge! Originally had a Power Fist but the army is too ghetto to afford him one now.

Bray'arth Ashmantle - Yo dawg we heard you like flamers, so we put a flamer inside your flamer so you can flame while you flame..

Vulkan's pimped out ride! It is so nice inside he sat in it for 4 turns in my last game! We assumed he was too busy reading the new edition of Sororitas Penthouse.

I'll probably be painting the tac marines first, more exciting news like this coming soon!

Hello again, the thread you haven't been waiting for is back! My motivation to paint up my Tactical Marines ended quickly, I did however complete four of them GREAT SUCCESS!

To remedy my boredom of green marines, I started some of my Chaos Daemons. I currently have a Nurgle themed army, but using the Nurgle units alone is very difficult in game. So I decided I wanted to include some Fiends. The Fiends would represent my Beasts of Nurgle in the army; they would still be Fiends while secretly being Beasts with a Nurgle theme, much like Beasts of Nurgle but instead really are Fiends posing as Fiends of Nurgle. So I really liked the idea of these Beast-Fiends of Nurgle disguised as Beasts but then thought about the cost of them here in AUS. The GW Fiends here in Australia are reasonably priced at $37. I needed to make 12 (2 squads) so after doing some mathemagics I came up with the delightful price of $444. Then I remembered the picture of the 2000 pt Chaos Daemons army from the codex; it only had one Beast and one Fiend in the list... I knew I was doing it wrong! Nevertheless I continued with my crazy idea of fielding more than one and looked for alternatives. The Reaper Dungeon Horror set looked really cool and was about $50 for 6. I like the old school monster look to these guys so I got two sets.

Here is one WIP shot

and here is the 2nd mini that I have already finished but forgot about the WIP shots ><

Such a happy fellow, thinking of all the Space Marines he will make friends with!
