Subject: Constructing a Deathwatch Army - advice please?

I have decided to collect a Deathwatch army.
I can hear some of you cry "Deathwatch are not an army". You are indeed correct, they may not be an army, but there must have been some point in the 41st Millennium where a Deathwatch army has been summoned.
My army is going to use this clause to justify being an army.
The only thing is... Which codex do I use?
Space Wolves give me access to a lot of characters that can be represented from the DW RPG Background.
Blood Angels have a lot of kool rules and the Stormraven. They also have Sternguard which are pretty core with their ammo rules.
Vanilla Marines have Pedro Kantor and Sternguard.
Black Templars and Dark Angels have nothing that interest me for the Deathwatch.
Ideally I want to fill all of these roles that are from the DW RPG books:
Deathwatch Black Shield
Deathwatch Champion
Deathwatch Chaplain
Deathwatch Dreadnought
Deathwatch Epistolary
Deathwatch Forge Master
Deathwatch Keeper
Deathwatch Kill-marine
Deathwatch Watch Captain
First Company Veteran
Any help would be greatly accepted.
Thanks.

Use Pedro to make your sternguard scoring and then use as many sternguard as possible. I think they represent the deathwatch as close as possible with their multi ammo types and ability to take what ever weapons they like.

Yeah, I think vanilla is the obvious choice here. Pedro and a bunch of Sternguard. Nothing else really makes sense.

Thirding the Pedro+Sternguard-centric force. You can use Scouts to fill up your two token Troops slots and paint/model them up to be Inquisitorial Stormtroopers or somesuch if you want to keep it Ordos-centric.

One of my friends has mentioned that I should create an "all marine" army.
Something about doing a list for each meq codex and picking one whenever a game arises.
It keeps the game fresh for me, but surely this is frowned upon?

You may get a few annoyed people having faced you the day before with one codex only for your to switch out to another. But truth be told if I had the option of that many choices for each of my armies I'd probably take it, just so happens marines are the only ones who do.
At the end of the day if you are wysiwig then the army is playable with the codex, but it might hurt some peoples "morals" of gaming.

That's the general feedback I've been getting about it.
Wysiwyg seems to be the general consensus to allow it as you have the models, but as you say morals might not. Automatically Appended Next Post: I just don't want to spend a boat load on an army and get bored of it. It just seems that this is the way forward, failing consrtucting my own chapter/warband.
