Just a quick question - are all T.A.G.'s on 40mm bases?

And, how about remotes?

Thanks!

No and no.

All TAGs except for the Maghariba Guard are on 40mm bases.

All Remotes except for Dakinis, Garudas, Devabots and all varieties of G: Servant/G:Sync are on 40mm bases.

A little explanation: I'm looking to buy some custom bases and wanted to make sure that I won't need any 60mm bases.

It looks like I won't!

I think...

Unless you've got a Maghariba Guard (which tends to need an 8cm base), nope.

Yeah, I got the Mag, and it says in tiny print on the box that it does not come with a base.

Meh.

I tried to fit it on a dreadnaught base... Nope! Doesn't work.

I can put it on one of those big cool Oval bases that GW makes... and it fits well on it, but to me that is just way too big.

Honestly... I'm tempted to leave it off the base entirely. It stands up SOLID by itself, and it's pretty much unbreakable except for the little antennae bits. I just have a feeling people might not like it's lack of base during gameplay.

What do you guys think? Leave it off for the cool factor? Or would everyone grumble about a baseless model?

I think that it should be on a base.

Now, what base exactly, I can't say!

I think CB mentioned in som FAQ what size the Magh should stand on. Not sure though.

Can it fit on a 60mm base?

If that's a dreadnaught sized base, that's a negative. It straddles the base like it's hot lava.

I found some threads in the Infinity forum stating that tournament size, and thus the "correct" size of base, is a round 80mm base.

Hmm... okay. So the next question is... where can I get an 80mm? I thought GW only goes up to 60mm... and that's sorta my spot for everything extra.

So it basically doesn't really fit on any base that is readily available?

Pretty much. Hence why I haven't bothered with it yet. Putting it on a base is just going to make it even harder to move around right now.

Where the sun crosses the field of blood.

There were apparently some retailers who sold 80mm, online retailers. Like Dragonforge (they have some bases that fit), and someone else said that a mini-cd might be 80mm, or a 3" small blast template.

But yeah, nothing that's readily available. Don't know why they would choose 80mm.

Thanks chief. That's a step at least.

I'll check out the mini-CD thing, I might have a couple of those around.

Mine's going on one of the big Dragonforge ovals, but that's as a display piece on top of a crushed police car.

Warmill would do a clear plastic one of pretty much any size but it doesn't have a beveled edge. When i asked them they said they could mark on the top edge as a guide for filing in the bevel. Might be easier to go with Dragonforge though.

Mate of mine who plays Haqq used a mini cd for his MG.
Although I think he traced it onto some mdf and used his scrollsaw to cut it out.

He is a huge GiTS fan and the picture of the spider tank in the rulebook is what swayed him to the game. He now has 2/3 of the Haqq figures (he's only going with one faction, but he's going to get ALL of them).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Of course, you should note that some Remotes and TAGs come with those metal "extensions" that allow the wide-legged stance of the model to fit on a base that is otherwise too small.

Take that into consideration when you but intricate bases.
