									Hey all.

In the Imperial Guard Army Builder unit selection, there is an option for an Imperial Sentry gun. However in the codex there is no Imperial Sentry gun. Can anyone tell me why this is in the Army builder unit selection, or where I can find it in the codex? Thank you

It is probably an IA unit that Army builder included.

If it is not in the IG codex, it is not legal in a standard game of 40K

Check the roster options and see if you have Non-codex units or IA units turned on and that it's not set to Planet Strike as a mission. Sentry guns are definitely either a Forgeworld or Planetstrike thing.

Everything is set as normal for my army builder. I checked the roster rules.

It seems like a bug. This was not present in the last version of the datafile, and it probably wont be there in the next update. If you look though, it does say (IA) at the end of the unit name, indicating that it is in fact an Imperial Armour unit.

Well, it's better to be on the safe side and only take units that are in the standard codex if you're making a general list. Some people will flip out if you bring anything even remotely resembling IA, so it's a good rule to follow. I'd hate to tell the op to slap some IA units down only for people to refuse to play them.

I understand how you probably hate that thinking though bob, GW really needs to just say once and for all if theyre legal for normal games, otherwise they'll be kept at a niche level and banned from most toruneys. Yeah they got the little chart thing in the ia books

I dont usually mind the IA stuff, if you mention it beforehand, and i can look at the stats for what you are bringing. If you bring a bunch of crazy stuff to a game though, and ive brought 2000 points worth of necron warriors, dont be upset if im upset about you bringing your cheese flame

I mean, some things are, some things arnt. Some things even though they are 40k approved, doesnt mean it brings balance to a reg 40k match, in my humble opinion.

So...you have assault drop pods, that can drop assault dreadnoughts, that can assault the turn they deepstrike in?

Hm, good thing i have my 10 man squad of warriors there to blunt your assault.

Whats that? You have THREE of said pods?
