I will have a 1000 point battle this weekend and I'm not sure if I should go with a DA Ravenwing army or if I should go with a Space Marine Bike army. This battle will be my first bike army (I haven't even painted half of the models yet but with so few models it's not very intimidating and I should be done by Saturday). I'm not certain if the DA rule set will even be competitive but at these point levels it seems to fit quite well. All the models I'm using are Dark Angel models because it is cheaper to buy Dark Angel Bikes than it is space marine bikes and the paint scheme is ravenwing colors. After looking at the army lists please vote

Ravenwing and find the old Master of Ravenwing on a speeder model. It has stats that are just sick and throws a lot more firepower than a single plasma cannon.

Or you can get the plastic bits from the ravenwing sprue and make it

I would go for the Speeder AV 14 on the front and sides with a twin linked assault cannon and a twin linked heavy bolter.

First things first my math skills are bad (actually my excel skills are) and my DA list is more than 200 points over 100 points Because of this I will take out 1 landspeeders and 3 bikes and 2 power weapons. Sad day.

Edit: thanks on the input I will mod a Land Raider... I mean Land Speeder for Sammael.

I would remove the landspeeders which are troops from your ravenwing list, they are not worth the points.

The jet bike for sammael is not too bad.

I would take MM on their landspeeders. Apothecary is worth it.

I personally have ravenwing models but interchange rules, with a few extra ones to make a command squad. I find ravenwing good but like all bike armies it is not very forgiving.
The only thing I would recommend is not using Khan, which you may not have considered.
