i have been planning a 1500 points iron warriors list for some time now and when i came up with this list i was wondering whether or not it was the one to use with the proper characteristics of an iron warriors force:

- war smith, power fist, combi-melta
- 3x land raiders (hell yeah!)
- 3x basic rhinos
- 10x marines, 2x Meltaguns
- 10x marines, 2x Meltaguns
- 10x marines, 2x Meltaguns
- 6x chaos marines, 1x Meltagun. (vanguard for war smith)

any suggestions on improvement would be appreciated.

This list seems too dependent on the land raiders, and what are the rhinos for? Iron Warriors to me are more about standing back and shooting and then melta-ing anything that gets close.

While Iron Warriors are a mainly siegecraft type army, who's to say they don't make offensive strikes against strategic locations? And besides, sometimes ya just feel like fielding 3 freakin Land Raiders haha

Anyways, only thing id say is utilize the transport capacity of the LRs instead of using them for 250pt Havok squads. Whether it be the Marines riding in them to capture objectives or packing them full of Melta-type Terminators, it seems a waste.

my initial strategy was to put the marines in rhinos for games like annihilate and in the raiders for capture and control games. just so it was flexible to scenarios.

As long as you can neuter the enemy melta weapons asap it could work. 3 scoring land raiders could be nasty.

I wouldn't bother with the rhinos, they are just free kill points. Take some terminators or dreads or something.

3 Land Raiders is badass! Having nothing that can properly assault out them.....not so much. Get some Lightning Claw Termies to fill those ramped metal boxes!

And what's an Iron Warriors list without Vindi's or a Basilisk?
