I'm repainting my DA using Belial and I have a quick question.

What is the best way to field Belial? Claws? Sword? THSS?

He will have his 5 man squad with him for support. Banner and apothacary too.

THSS for the durability.

TH/SS is considered one of the best, mainly because he has no Iron Halo and a TH is still quite a problem. Versatile.

LCs are fast, sure, and are pretty good when it comes to infantry. If you face Mech Spam lots, avoid.

The Sword is the worst option. You've sacrificed rerolled wounds or a 3++ and TH in place for a Storm Bolter and a Power Weapon. Avoid.

Depends who youre fighing. If its a horde like orks or nids then the extra attacks and initative with LCs is great. However you risk him getting gibbed by a bunch or rending or MC attacks or a single PK. I run him with TH/SS because hes only T4 so is still vulnerable to pk/pfs or alot of power wep attacks.

TH/SS
He gets a 3+ invulnerable save ans strikes 3 times without modifiers as s8 WS5.

Lightning claws 4 WS5 S4 re-rollable to wound sounds good but witha 5++ invul he is vulnerable to insta death

SB/PS=worthless gak don't bother

I think you mean 3++ invulnerable.

TH or LC are the best option, but I would model Belial with the sword for fluff reasons.

LoneLictor on thread about an ork choking the Emperor:

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

The 3++ seals it. Lightning claws isn't a bad option though.

Kid I played Sunday ran sword Belial, big squad of power fisters/thunderhammerers, with a banner, apothecary and chaplain. I was suprised by the sword choice, but in later rounds of combat that reroll to hit was awesome. On the charge, as long as you line up Belly against regular infantry, the fisters will finish off anything in front of him.

Even though I am magnetizing all the arms to have options. My first setup for my DW list will have Belial with TH/SS. I plan to make the claws as well but just don't see them getting as much use.
