Got rid of the uber awesome hero character, and added a semi awesome no name general, also added half horns just to eat up and additional 24 points.

Drop the halfhorns and add musicians. Personally at this level, I would drop the beastlord and take a GBS for magic defense and either buffs or hexes if you go shadow or beasts and add in a beast banner wargor with the 2+ armor save, I would combine the gor into 1 big unit, horde of gor is a must IMO. I would dump the centigor, maybe use them as filler, try and add 10 more bestigor, also look at solo razorgors and harpies, they are nice.

I had some success with this list at 1500:

Ruby Ring is basically there to get rid of regen and ethereal which is the bane of the "Solve it With Axes" (trademarked by rothgar13) builds for beastmen.
