GK Henchmen might be an option, lots of unique options to build henchmen squads based on what you need at the time.

Warrior Acoolytes - Enforcers
Acroflaggellants - Cyber Mastiff
Crusaders - Enforcer with Shock Maul/Riot Shield

etc

Then have a counts-as coteaz for your leader and you're set.

(Also yes I plug this codex for most cool lists that dont have a codex, its that versatile)

Soon his foes would learn that the only thing more dangerous than a savage three hundred pound brute is a savage three hundred pound brute with a plan - Ork Codex

You could also run them as IG shotgun vets, or scout Marines with shotguns. That's basically all I've got though, aside from the aforementioned GK henchmen options.

For IG I'd go with something like this:

Arbites - Carapace Vets with shotguns (Heavy stubber=autocannon or heavy bolter)
Bolter Arbites - Storm troops (bolters are actually armor-piercing stub guns)
Stick and board - ???
Cyber Mastiff - ???

Yeah, I'm stuck. Henchmen seem the way to go even though they only have BS3.

Agreed with whats mentioned above

Carapace vets with shotguns
Include the forgeworld repressor (riot van)
Don't forget to include lots of penal legionnaires as cannon fodder

Getting power maul and supression shield rules would need to be house rules of some description though.

Hi there. There's a couple of people on here running Arbites armies - I have a massive project going on at http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/346076.page

There are a number of options.

Imperial Guard Grenadiers
PROS - Shotgun and carapace armour for basic troops. Correct stat lines for basic troops. Sentinels.
CONS - No supression shields, no cyberhounds, no bikes, no boltguns, no rhino-based vehicles (though Chimeras are ok)

Sisters of Battle
PROS - Crusaders as Maul/Shield guys, DCAs as Cyberhounds, Correct stat lines for basic troops (except save), Rhino-based vehicles, Exorcists, Repressors etc.
CONS - No shotguns, no bikes, no chimeras. Wrong saving throw.
OTHER - Acts of faith points kinda work, but you have to remember them! 6+ save a bit weird.

Grey Knights Henchmen
PROS - Warriors with Shotguns and Carapace AND Crusader/DCA as well makes basic choices good. Chimeras and Rhinos.
CONS - No bikes, have to use Exorcists as Whirlwinds, really hard to get up to a good points value with only six squads of henchmen!

Space Marine Scouts
PROS - Shotguns, boltguns and carapace armour in basic troops, BIKES, Rhino based vehicles
CONS - Weird stat line. Have to use Exorcists as Whirlwinds, only maul/shield equivalent is basic Assault squad?

or, you could go for Fan Codexes. There's one being developed on here at http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/439043.page, which is very large/thorough, but still in development. There is another very good one on Bell of Lost Souls, which I'd say is the 'standard' fandex at the moment - it's smaller, but very quick to read and understand and very balanced - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/439043.page

Personally, I'm building my Arbites army to be very flexible, so that it can work with ANY of the above lists!!

While the IG options aren't great for existing Arbites models (shields and cyber hounds) it does allow for a very charcterful vehicles.

Riot suppression hell hounds, crowd clearing Leman Russ Punishers, aerial patrol valkyries...

Throw in 50 carapace vets, some penal legions, storm troops (bolter arbites) tanks, and a command squad and you have a pretty good precinct worth.

The only problem is that Penal Legion take up troops choices and you'd already be stuffing those with Veterans/Arbites. Now if you took an IG infantry platoon and did a couple powerblobs with Arbite command squads and commissars, then you might be onto something.

Out of these the two best seems to be Imperial Guard and Grey Knight Henchmen.

I can only suggest maybe cyber-mastiffs being represented by penal legionnares. The problem is it depends and what you roll, and that them shooting doesn't make much sense.

What about having Rough Riders count as Cyber mastiffs? Though you'd probably have to model a bunch of dogs on a single RR base, just having the one might seem weird. Yeah they can still shoot, but most of the time you'll be charging them into combat anyway.

I was Leaning towards IG because of the penal legion, GK henchmen fit but if I was using a GK list I am sure I would be asked alot why not just use a real grey knight army instead

I guess I will just let my cyber mastiff collect dust, now to find the new FW arbite for my general

Just use cyber-mastiffs as bodyguards in the command squad.
