I can try to make one for you if you can supply some of the art work. I got the girl from Deviant. I created the icon a while ago, and the Infinity I found.

That would be kool but I wouldn't know where to get a picture from, I guess I could use their artwork but I think I have to ask for permission?

who's artwork? You don't have to for something like a banner. If you are not making money off it then it's fine. Lke using the artwork to promote your own thing. The Infinity would be fine if you were say selling Infinity figures. But the girl would not be okay. But for a personal banner it's okay.

There's a bunch of banners on the Infinity site too. Go to the forum and do a search for banners. You can then take it from there. Don't worry about using it on another site either because it's promo for them.

I think if you give credit to where you got it from its ok. I don't know if thats right or not just going off of what you would do for stuff like quoting for a article etc..

You're right but for this kind of use not many will worry about it.

Again, also not the case. While crediting avoids plagiarism, plagiarism and copyright infringement are different (although frequently related) things.

But rather than overloading the thread with legal discussion, I'll just link to Wikipedia - Fair use: Common Misunderstandings - and let that explain it. But in summary, suffice to say that many of the things that are assumed to be exceptions to copyright aren't, or only apply under certain circumstances.

The logo I just did a search on to find. Luckily it was big enough. and the yin yang i made myself. I'm a graphic artist in my real life lol. well and okay one. I if i was better i would have done it all myself. I guess if I took the time i could have.

The end result looks great, very Infinity. In fact that girl could pass for official artwork!
