I am reading fall of damnos and in one chapter it described a battle between ultra marines and chaos in which a marine was pricked by a demonic barb and turned into a daemon when he pricked another it died and became a zombie

so I want to make an army in which the only chaos is a daemon prince of nurgle
the rest of my troops are marine models that are zombified with a bit of green stuff

So... Plague Marines, then?

So they were all loyal space marines? And a deamon barb made one into a Deamon Prince? (this can't happen anyways)

Or was there just the one deamon prince and he "converted" some loyal marines to his cause?

like Ignatius said just by pricking a chaos barb cant make you a daemon prince or else the Imperium would be screwed.
so in reality no not a interesting story I meant the only Zombie Plauge book i liked was posted a few years ago on this site and it had many twists and turns and betrayal, in fact i am pretty sure it was the planetary govener that infected some hab blocks(purposely) and then turned it over to nurgle and was immune and gained great favor and there were some daemons involved guardsmen died you know the usual

Year marines are bio-engineered to avoid infectionsbut if you want a zombified army either use plague marines or look at the zombie plague rules on GW website.
