Hey,

I posted this in 40k General with no replies, so I thought I would try here:

I saw that a new store is opening in KC and I was wondering if there were any rules for their painting competition. Here are my questions:

1. Can I bring non-GW paints and brushes?
2. Can I use my own primer? If not, are the models primed when you get there?
3. Would using something like a hair dryer to dry the paint faster be considered cheating?
4. Typically, what models do they use?

I could really use answers from someone who has been to a "First to Fight" store opening. I've tried searching the intarwebs with no luck.

I've got no experience with first to fight competitions, however when I was making enquiries in my local GW about the hero painting competition I was told that I had to use only GW paints, and that they had to be the new paints (to plug the new range).

Primer is questionable, GW has a primer now I think but in the past only had chaos black, but again its likely "use our stuff" as a rule of thumb.

I've recently started taking on commissions, if you'd like to talk a project over feel free to PM me here, or find me at:

Thank you for the reply. I had a feeling that this was the case. I might just bring my primer and all they can tell me is "no".

Do you think they would get bent out of shape over extra bits?
