I'm trying to get my brother into 40k and I want an army list to show him what he should get. What would be the best 500 or 200 point army list for me to make him? A fair amount of shooting and CC units would be preferable so he can get a feel for what he likes. Thanks.

500 point necron eh? ok im not a necron player but i can help out i would recommend just getting the starter kit and an hq (command barge because plastic) with a crypteck in fact i will only use those units

overlord (+ phaeron + warscythe + midshackle scarabs + sempiternal weave + resurrection orb + phase shifter) 225 points (it would be better to proxy him as imotekh)
