I am very interested in building a CSM army, a buddy of mine told me like 6 months ago that I should really wait for the new codex to come out and all that jaz. Well I have waited for 6 months and I really can't wait any longer. Is it a good idea to start building a force now with basic stuff or hold off until the codex does come out? Please give me some advice because I am desperately looking for a new project. Thank you.

Every army will change in some way or another.

If you want CSM now, get CSM now. It's not even definite that they will be getting an update yet. (Rumor readers will probably yell at me for that, but oh well...)

Patience is a virtue.

Hold off. I'm waiting to see if there are any cooler CC options in the codex before I fully commit to a Berzerker army

Get the Codex second-hand then you aren't paying the full price. I got mine for £9 on eBay, but p+p took it up to £11
