I posted a similar list to this a while back but it got buried so after lurking the forum for a while,
I've been wondering what everyone thinks about this list and whether it can stand up for a reasonably competitive 500pt campaign between
another IG, necrons and vaniila space marines.

you will die you have nothing to take out armored 14 vehicals get meltas scrap all your flamers and auto cannons for meltas and lascannons (unless its a no armor 14+)

I agree, I think you need something to deal with AV14. Lascannon/2x melta in the CCS?

x2 metla? pff go for 4 or 5 meltas and put every squad with a melta and a lascannon and mabe youll be fine

surely their cannot be that much armour in 500pts, apart from maybe a lR from the guard (which could be outflanked by the sents and i doubt a monolith or landraider will appear).
If i am close enough to use melta against anything im close enough for combat.while being shot at to get there.
maybe if i drop forward sentries and throw a LC on the vets and two AC on the troops?

In a 500 point game I would only expect aromor 14 from IG.
but give your command squad all melta and vets with las.

also most gaes for 500 points have 1-2 hq 1-6 (not 2-6) troops 0-2 elites 0-2 fa 0-2 heavy support

Personally I would drop the Sentinels in favour of a much needed Chimera for your veterans (and perhaps swap Forward Sentries for either Carapace or Demolitions). I'd also invest in dozer blades and a heavy flamer for the Chimera.
Use the extra points you have left over from the Chimera for Melta or Plasma, as these are much more useful against Space Marines and Necrons, as well as a few more Autocannons and the like. Unless your Necron opponent really likes scarabs the points for the flamers could probably be used better elsewhere

its just a straight up campaign between friends that we are going to take a bit more competitively (after lots of casual games).
normal force organisation applies just with no named characters
