Hey guys,

This is slightly old news, but I didn't see it posted here and I hadn't checked Sam Mustafa's website for awhile. Anyway, his latest game in the Honour series, Maurice, has been released. It's a 18th century Enlightenment-era game (basically Pre-Napoleonic horse and musket). Has anyone been following this or played it yet? I'm a big fan of his Lasalle rules, and I noticed the current release deals on his website and went ahead and ordered a copy of Maurice. There is a sale going on now until the end of May 13th, so if anyone was planning on getting this, now is probably the best time.

I haven't read through the entire PDF yet, but on the surface it looks pretty slick. The game uses cards and there's also a "Succession Wars" campaign system, and the game is supposed to be ideal for both historical scenarios and Imagi-Nations type games. I'll post my thoughts when I get a chance to read a bit more, and when I get my hands on the physical book and cards I'll provide some details about them as well (won't be for a couple months though, unfortunately ).

There is also a free Maurice Lite ruleset along with cards available for free on the website here.

I'll be playing it next month, saw the cards and book today and it looked like a quality product.

The Lieutenant is a Punk! And a pretty 2nd rate Punk at that.......

I've got his older big Napoleonic battle rules -- can't remember the name ATM.

They are well written and full of interesting ideas.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Is it Grand Armee? I've heard it's a pretty solid grand tactical ruleset. Does it have flexible basing rules, like his other games? I wouldn't mind picking up a copy at some point, but I'm trying to get a Lasalle force together first. Of course, if the basing flexible, then it'd be easy to make the switch (something I really like about Lasalle and Maurice).

Grand Armee, yes. It is designed for very large battles.

The bases are 3 inch square, representing a brigade. All my 6mm Naps are based on 60mm square for Baccus's Marechal de l'Empire.

It just needs a bit of adjustment to the distance scale to use them with Grande Armee.

When it comes to Napoleonics I am mainly interested in large battles with grand tactical movement.
