Here is my Anti Necron list, I have got a game against a necron player this monday and I have only ever played a few games against necrons and they were all against the old codex. I know he has some of the new verhicles, not sure on what else he has though. The main plan is to have the farseer with the WraithGuard , the Banshee's would be just behind the Wraithguard whilst the Farseer casts fortune on them continuously with the two Wraithlords staying alongside them. The Avengers and their Serpent, the Warphunter and the hawks would be deployed on a flank, and would run up using cover whilst shooting at the necrons, with the avengers aiming for objectives (If there are any) whilst the Hawks apply pressure to the likes of warriors, scarebs ect whilt aiming to get a couple of vehicles with their grenades, and then using Skyleap if needed or to get to the other side of the board and throw down some grenades. Any advice on units. tactics ect? I have had good luck with Hawks, but am not entirely sure on skyleap and so could possibly drop it for an extra Banshee.
Other units I could include instead is a 7 man dire avenger squad or a 10 man defender Guardian Squad with warlock, could that be better then the Banshee's against Necrons? Would it be a good idea ot try and find the pts for doom and spirit stones somewhere to help the banshees and Hawks?

Yes, I use Swooping Hawks, they are lovely models so why not?

Drop the cheaper wraithlord and a swooping hawk and add in prince yriel.
hes also from iyanden so fits with fluff and eye of wrath will kill loads of necron troops. Also his spear can offset necron elites main advantage (toughness)

Seems pretty solid, you've got one big wall marching up the field. You may want to give the farseer doom as well, to help the banshees who are going to be rolling 5+ to wound on almost everything.
I agree with Dark Haemonculus about the wraithlord, to free up points, and yriel would fit your play style. Plus he can run out and do eye of wrath, lol.

Executing Exarch

The Twilight Zone

If he is fielding newcron armor, you are looking at AV13, something your list is not built to handle well.

I would drop the banshees altogether, unless they can ride in a serpent(Exarch with executioner and more banshees too). They will get cut down by a single volley from warriors, and need 5's or 6's in assault against crons! Not a good idea...

A second psychic power and stones is a good idea(doom to mitigate T5). Hand out singing spears if you have spare points to your psykers.

Starcannons are awful. You want to make your other wraithlord a Lance+EML lord to help with quantum shields. S6 spam wont cut it against their armor. Keep the lords behind the guard so they can get cover saves.

Hawks are good for scarabs and tanks in a pinch, but flimsy. Use with caution. I would also drop them down to 5, as the extra body does not help much in combat or survivability.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

As a necron player I can tell you this:

The hawks are pointless. The banshees need more numbers and a way to get where they need to go (serpent?). Avengers are so-so; I'd say drop them. Wraithguard and wraithlords are scary. You may want to consider scorpions with exarch. You may want to consider a squad of walkers with scatter lasers instead of the warp hunter.

S6 is not awful - it allows you to wound wraiths on 2+, and they have 3++, so AP is irrelevant. Also, they insta-kill 3W scarab bases.

if you are afraid of armor, take lances as quantum shielding counts as 12 against them. Also, the new monolith is no longer immune to lance weapons, so it is very vulnerable. Lances also insta-kill wraiths, and wound spyders on 2+ without armor save.

heres a list that ive used for fun while still staying somewhat fluffy. when dealing with necrons though this list performs well but does take some time to get use to

farseer
-doom/fortune
-stones
-both runes

10x wraithguard
-spirit seer
-conceal

10x avengers
-exarch
-dual catapults
-bladestorm

10x harlies
-8x kiss
-2x fusion pistol
-shadowseer
-kiss

2x wraith lords
-dual flamers
-bright lance/ml

3x war walkers
-dual scatter lasers

that leaves with 37 pts to play around with. you wont have trouble dealing with most armor if you can get close enough as the wraith cannons do mean things to tanks. also tossed in doom so you can get some re-roll insta death wounds from the wraith cannons as well. and having bladestorming avengers and harlies running around to deal with "doomed" units is just as nice. the walkers are in there to help deal with scarabs and things with high toughness, and can even outflank if need be to get on some potential rear armor or to deal with a pesky unit hiding in back.
