Hq:
3 Sherman, Sherman ARV
Combat:
3 Sherman, 1 Firefly
3 Sherman, 1 Firefly
3 Sherman, 1 Firefly
Divisional:
Infantry Platoon (3 Squads)
4 M10 17pdrs

Total-1500pts on the dot!

Now this is my first list and its not meant to be really competitive, and I thought, once I want to get the list to 1750pts, I would add 4 Sextons and maybe some Bren Carriers.

I'm guessing you're basing this out of Turning Tide?

If so, I'm not sure how you got to 1500 points. First off, you can't get a Firefly in the HQ section - just up to 4 Shermans, and Crusader A/As. Second, this list is only 1405 points.

I'd advise you find some way to get smoke into this list. Sherman Vs aren't exactly powerhouses, and you'll be torn apart by anti-tank fire before your able to get close and into knife-fighting range.

Oh Sorry mate, I actually meant to be a Sherman ARV, Lord knows why I put a firefly. And Yes I am basing this on Turning Tide, I don't know what you mean by how I did not get to 1500.

A Sherman platoon is 290.. x3=870. The HQ is 210pts, the Infantry Section is 150pts and the M10's are 270pts. Which equals out to 1500.

Ohp, hang on you! The infantry section wasn't in there before.

Tricky, sir. Tricky.

I'm not sure that you need the Achillies given that you have Fireflies. You could try dropping them and reducing your HQ to just the CO and 2iC which will give you enough points for some Stuarts (recce is a must for armour) and a troop of Sextons.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Yeah recce is a great idea IMHO, also if you get the sextons you can then drop smoke on say a king tiger or AT guns.

Yea, I was thinking aboot' dropping the Infantry and putting in the Recce and then the sextons, which should bring me to 1750 on the dot

Keep the infantry. They are really needed in an armoured list. perhaps not as much as recce but you need something to assault hard targets in difficult going becuase your Shermans aren't going to do anything in that situation. Plus they make a nice objective speed bump.

You can get by without them but I have never regretting taking an infantry platoon in an armoured list.

Drop down the third Sherman V in the Sqn HQ. You really don't need the SP AT guns, as your running a three FF VC list. Keep the infantry, add in a recce troop and some indirect fire support with a four sexton battery.

OR

Drop down the third Sherman V and the Recovery Sherman in the Sqn HQ. Add in two AA Crusaders to the Sqn HQ. Drop an entire armoured troop, and add in 1 x .50cal to each remaining armoured troop. To beef up your AT assets, add the Corps Anti-tank Platoon (SP), Royal Artillery (Four M10s.). Keep the inf. platoon, add the recce troop and a four gun battery of 25pdrs.

I love list building. I really could bash through all night doing up lists. Both lists will see you kitted out with AT, as well as Recce, Infantry and Arty support. The Crusaders in the second list will also add in some direct fire pinning to enemy infantry platoons, and kill/ bail half-tracks or other light armour.

Both sit at 1500pts.
