Just got done with an epic 4 vs 4 battle. Figure I would share the results up here for those interested
The Rules:
List Building and Event rules
Spoiler:
……….List: 250pt single list, 1 Combat group maximum (strictly enforced)
……….Team: 4v4, random pairings
……….Board Size: 8'x4'
……….Time Limit: 4 hours (or 5 game turns)
……….Entry Fee: $10 buy in cash, winning team walks away with $20 cash each, and winners buy the losers a soda/water.
……….Mercenaries: Mercenaries are legal as per rulebook guidelines, but a full Merc force is not (serious balance issue there).
……….Primer is the new Red and White Bullseye: Shots against models that have NO paint on them (primer doesn’t count) will receive a +1 BS added to their roll. (Note: even if the model has a stroke of paint on it this rule will not trigger).
……….Mission: Capture the nodes. The team with the most nodes controlled at game end is the winner.
……….Special Deployment: What team will be going first is decided before deployment occurs, but after sides and deployment order are chosen. The team that is going first may nominate 1 building to control and may setup the doors for that building in the state of their choosing (open/closed/unlock/lock). The team going second may choose up to 4 buildings to control and alter the doors for those buildings in the state of their choosing. After controlled buildings are decided upon deployment will continue as normal however, you may not deploy a model inside of a building that your team does not control, this includes impersonators. (insert BS reason why impersonators can’t deploy in the opposing building)
General Special Rules:
Spoiler:
……….Coordinated Force: Each player of a team activates a model at the same time as if they were part of a coordinated order. However, these models suffer no penalties or restrictions associated with coordinated order. However, only one member of the team may perform a real coordinated order at a time.
……….Strategos: Strategos will only effect the controlling player's force and one enemy player of the controlling player's choice.
……….Retreat!: Retreat is calculated on a Team Basis.
……….Morats: The Morat special rule will only effect the retreat threshold of the CA combat group it is taken with.
……….Impersonators: Impersonators may mimic one player's force at a time. All other player's forces (even if it is the same army type) will consider the impersonator to be 1 state worse than what it currently is. (IE Imp1 will be Imp1 to the chosen player and Imp2 to all other players)
……….Defensive Hacking: Only the player being targeted by a hack attack or guided ammunition may attempt to defensively hack with their hackers. If the targeted player has no hackers he may nominate a single teammate's hacker to defensively hack for him.
……….Inspiring Leadership: This trait will only effect the owning player's models and not the whole team.
……….Separate Comms: Teammates are considered friendly forces, however each have their own communications lines. This means that players may not use each other’s repeaters, forward observer markings, or other similar mechanics.
……….Emergency Comms: Even though all teammates operate on different comms channels, they do have the ability to communicate between each other. All friendly players can change facing if a player preforms an the alert skill. Additional all friendly models may change facing under the friendly model hit within' 8" rule.
……….Air-tight rooms: Buildings that have all their doors shut will not be able to have guided ammo fired into or out of the building until a door is opened.
……….Distracted Impetuous: Impetuous models are too pissed off to care about objects. As such an Impetuous model cannot Capture Nodes, but may Deny Nodes as per the rule below. Impetuous orders must be performed before any team regular or regular orders are spent.
Node Special Rules: 10 ARM | 3 STR | -9 BTS
Spoiler:
……….Capture Node: To capture a Data Node a model must spend a long skill while in BtB to activate the node and remain in contact with the node till the end of the controlling player's turn. If the node is currently controlled by the enemy then 2 Long Skills must be performed in back to back and the model must remain in contact with the node till the end of the controlling player's turn.
……….Deny Node: A node that is captured by the enemy may simply be knocked down Neutral State instead of Reclaiming the Node. A model must spend a long skill while in BtB to downgrade the node and remain in contact with the node till the end of the controlling player's turn.
……….Destroy Node: Data Nodes may be destroyed with EXP or DA. Nodes may also be destroyed by a hacker, in BtB contact, with a successful Anti-Hacker Protocol, however for each failed hack attempt increases the BTS by -3. Engineers may repair nodes no matter their current level of damage.
……….Too busy to hide: Camouflaged models are revealed when they attempt to capture/deny a node. You may not recamo while attempting to capture/deny a node
Door Special Rules: 3 ARM | 2 STR | -6 BTS
Spoiler:
……….Open/Close Door: Unlocked doors may be opened or closed with a short skill while in BtB contact and will immediate grant LoF through the doorway upon declaration if opened. If a model closes a door LoF will immediately be cut off to anything behind the door. Hackers may hack the door to open/close.
(Example: If you open a door LoF will immediately be granted to anything behind it to ARO and if the door is closed it can prevent LoFAROs to models behind it)
……….Lock/Unlock Door: Doors be changed to lock or unlocked status with a short skill while in BtB contact with the door while inside the building. Hackers may hack the door to lock/unlock with a short skill of Hack at -6 BTS.
……….Destroy Door: Doors may be effected by EXP, DA, Monofilament, or Boarding Shotgun AP ammo. E/M weaponry can disable a door freezing it in its current state if a door fails it’s E/M save. Engineers may repair non-“dead” doors.
Epic moments:
- Yuan Yuan jumps onto the board and intuitive attacks two markers nearby each other thinking it was a minelayer and mine... turns out it was 2 zeros PLUS there was a TO Camo hidden there too... all three dead. score.
- 2 fidays taking on a speculo and a Skiavoro... end is a fiday with a monofiliment and another fiday with a plasma rifle.
- Spekter hacker turns a Custodier's brain into a fried egg then a Interventor quickly returns the favor.
- A clever zero minelays a mine on a nearby building during deployment... which everyone though was a sniper
- Naffatun heavy flamers a spekter and a anathematic burning off the camo, but failing to wound
- Anathematic sepsitors a hafza then shuts down a link team of janissaries with a single plasma E/M blast
- Achilles gets 3 way gang banged after a Ghulam immobilizes him
- Another clever little zero uses mines to kill a highlander link team then suicide dashes at Wallace... who cut his head off... and realizes he just turned his whole force Impetuous
End game result: RED TEAM WINS! 10 to 6
Nodes put up on the building to show who claimed

Very nice. I love the unpainted models special rule!
Do you find you miss having roofs, given that no-one can climb atop a building to get wide field of fire? Or do you reckon the added convenience (don't have to lift the "lid" of the roof off to get to the inside) makes it worthwhile?
Haha yeah there is rooftops for them all, we just keep them off unless tey are needed. The only ones really getting on the rooftops were snipers and other long range weapons. Every order you can scrounge up was focus on helping teammates and capturing/ defending points. Spending 2+ orders to get on a rooftop position wasn't a luxury we had lol.
