I've been collecting orks at a full steam ahead rate as of late. I've only been able to get 1 game of 40k under my belt so I'm still a total FNG when it comes to building lists so it's been a kind of max things out and then go back deal for me lately. I'm not really even sure how to make a list at this point. I have my codex and I see that ghazzy is worth x amount of points yada yada but I'm going to TRY and run a game night at my local store so I would like to start getting the big green machine in gear not only painting but play wise. I bought a TON of stuff over the last I guess it's been three months....I'm going to see if you guys can point me in the right direction I'll do point costs my self but I am VERY interested in battlewagon bash list...just love the idea of a battlewagon squishing things...
I have
5 battlewagons
30 lootas
15-20 burnas
16 kommandos + snikrot
174 boys
9 bikes
9 deff koptas
11 mega nobs
ghazzy
a weirdboy mad doc grotsnik 3 of the AOBR warboss 2 trukks 7 killa kans a deff dread body a ton of nobs close to 20 with boss poles and power klaws 10-15 gretchin and of course 2 big meks with KFF
I'm totally new to 40k still because the only place that I can play is an hour drive 1 way for me so I'm hard pressed to make myself go unprepared. If you guys are still reading this and have some advice or a place I could take my units to get a way to start playing the mean green horde I would be forever grateful! (I know this could go in army list but I thought because I don't actually have a list it would be up for discussion more than a "list")

Easiest thing you can build is Wagon Rush. You have all of the models for the list, except for a Painboy. Do you have Nobs equipped for wound allocation shenanigans as well? If not, buy a Nob box, you can definitely use those bits and convert a plastic Painboy if you don't want the Finecast model.

What point size do you normally play at?

Yeah, if you like battlewagon rush, then your in luck, because its one of the most competitive ork lists at the moment. Grotsnik will make a fine painboy. Really, with what you have there, you could run any list you want.

My gamestore normally tries for 2k points. That's most tourneys I see. I have a box of nobs I think (I have the metal ones and the plastic ones from AOBR) and I'm just trying to get this list up and running I have the meganobs for the list but I'm not sure which is better nobs or meganobs I don't know if I have enough lootas lol I'm just so very very lost when it comes to orks and I don't get to play enough to just go get my butt handed to me for a total 2 hour drive XD

My friend, you have plenty of lootas. Trust me. Regular nobz are generally better then mega nobz, because they can wound allocate more easily, can get fnp, an invul. save, and WS 5. But don't underestimate mega nobz! A small-ish pack in a trukk is well known as a "MANz Missile." Just launch it forward and let the MANz do their thing. Rather suicidal, but very distracting and brutally effective. Expect them to die, because they will. In fact, if my MANz don't die by the end of the game, then i generally assume that they didn't do enough.

Can you give me a suggestion on where to find the most competitive lists? I have no idea where to even begin and I just keep buying stuff XD

This would be a fairly good place to start. There should be an article on how your Orks should be used against different armies as well. Been a while since I read these articles, so I don't remember.

I would start playing at a low point value, say 750 or 1000. Play around until you have a good understanding of the units you are using, then add anouther 250 points, and figure it out from there. And so on. I'd rather not tell you what list to use. That is something for you to figure out on your own. You can post a list for critique, but i am firmly against making your list for you. That list may work for some, but you need to know what works for you.

Well this is a starting list for 1k points:

85 - Big Mek w/KFF

154 - 19 boyz, nob upgrade w/PK, BP
160 - 20 boyz, nob upgrade w/PK, BP
160 - 20 boyz, nob upgrade w/PK, BP

125 - Battlewagon w/deffrolla, AP, big shoota
130 - Battlewagon w/deffrolla, AP, GR, big shoota
130 - Battlewagon w/deffrolla, AP, GR, big shoota

944

For more points you can add in another big Mek for more KFF coverage and your lootas. Grab some nobz too and put them in a battlewagon as well since they can take them as dedicated. Make sure all wagons are covered by the KFFs (when the big meks are in the wagons, you measure 6in from the hull for KFF range).

And of course more boyz! Make sure every mob has a nob in it with a PK and BP

How would you fill in fast attack? I have the lootas but I've heard there are better choices than them and I'm not sure exactly where to go from the battlewagons onwards are bikes a better choice? How do I differentiate the nobs? I only had like axes and swords some have BP some had TL shootas I've read a lot on them but I've heard meganobs go in BW bash lists. I'm just totally at a loss aside from boys and BW =[ I have ghazzy too does he belong in the list or would you only take him with snikrot? when should I take kommandos? Should ghazzy always go with the kommandos? Just way to many questions D=

Also is there a way to find a place that has an...I guess the best way to say it is optimized list of everything the orks have ie 30 lootas are the best a unit can be or 15 nobs are all you're ever going to need or 18 bikes make a this kind of list I'm lost there too and just keep picking up everything I can in the hopes I'll have enough...

For Fast Attack, you'd take Deffkoptas with Buzzsaws and TL Rokkits (Use AOBR models). They're meant to take out backfield long range fire support units, and you can choose to Outflank with them if you don't go first or turbo boost in your Scout move if you do go first. You can also take TL Rokkit Buggies if you want. I personally use 2 Deffkoptas with the previously mentioned configuration as single units and a unit of 2 TL Rokkit Buggies.

Mega Nobs aren't really used in Wagon lists, since Nobs do their role better. As for Nobs, in order to take advantage of wound allocation, you want to have each Nob unique with their wargear. For example, take a look at the unit of Nobs that I use:

6 Nobs
1 Painboy with Cybork
1 PK with Cybork
1 PK with Bosspole, Cybork
1 PK with WAAAGH! Banner, Cybork
1 Normal and Cybork
1 Big Choppa and Cybork

This allows you to have the unit stick around much longer, as it would have to take 7 unsaved wounds in order to lose one model.

I don't have experience with Kommandos, so I can't really comment on their performance. I do know that Snikrot is a requirement.

You don't need 30 Lootas in a Wagon list. Lootas are meant to be supporting the Wagons by taking out the transports of the enemy, so if you sink more points into the Lootas, you have less points spent on killy fings.

How do you show the cybork bodies and things? How do you show the buzzsaw on the koptas? And meganobs are a nono? I have 11 of them D= just need to know what my next few purchases should be =[

Most people aren't going to get mad at you for non-wysiwyg cyborks. Buzzsaws, just clip off the chainsaw choppas and stick 'um on the bottem. Meganobs can be used well, just look at the post i did on them before, i'm not going to repeat myself.
