Hey dakka...
Just a quick question,
On the forgeworld website, in the tau accesories section, you can see tau tank commander... which led me to this question...
It is a fire caste commander that leads the tank, but is it an air caste pilot that drives it?
Or is it fire caste pilots specially trained to do so?
Same for barracudas or other kinds of war vehicules
It seems to me, as we can see on the piranhas that it's a fire caste crew that drives them... but still, the curiosity is tickling me.

Ground vehicles (Hammerheads, Devil Fish, etc.) are piloted by Fire Warriors and Drones. There's usually just 1 pilot while Drones and internal AI systems manage everything else.

Tau aircraft (Barracudas, Tigersharks, etc.) are piloted by the AIr Caste.

Regular fire caste drives the tank.
Air caste fly the flyers because they are spacecraft too.
If it's a skimmer, fire caste. If it's a full on flyer/spaceship, air caste.
