Title says it all really!

I'm just canvasing opinions on what kind of base will provide the best contrast with my Deathwatch squads (painted black).

I've considered trying the new GW textured paints... any thoughts?

Thanks dudes

I'd go with something like Armageddon Dust.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Wouldn't white or yellows work well??

So that comes down to deserts and snow lol, both of which can be done with the new paints.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

I had initially toyed with the idea of snow using flock.

I'm steering away from desert as my chaos forces are based basic with sand!

Hi there,

I would personally steer away from the Citadel Texture paints, alot of money for what you get, Vallejo do their own equivalents in far bigger tubs (200g) for just over double the price of one Citadel pot (12ml).
I have used the Citadel astrogranite and it was ok but not much different from PVA/sand mix to be honest.
Hopefully you can save a bit of money in the long run?

This is my mostly black dreadnought that people really like the base of.

I think just using sand on the base provides a great contrast to black figures. The black against the light brown/beige really pops I think.
