As some of you may have seen in my P&M blog I recently rediscovered Gorkamorka having found the rules on the GW website, this prompted me to dig out some of my old Ork bits and invest in a couple of new kits to work on the beginnings of a new ork gang to play with locally (I'll find a way to get a game going locally). I've now finished my first model and converted two more, this is pretty much the paint scheme I intend to carry over to the rest of the gang, currently called Da Red Klawz, known for their savage cunnin and thieving ways.
First model done is:
Sneakin BossStompa
Wargear: Kannon, Knife, Six Shoota.
C&C welcome as always

That is looking really nice. The skin is nice and the red on the skin as well looks fantastic.

Thanks, the skin has always been my favourite part of painting Orks (gotta love the greens), part of my reasoning for investing in the Savage Ork kit as the basis for my Boyz was the sheer amount of skin to paint.

I would agree I love being able to do different shades from pale to bright green. The only problem that comes with most orks is their clothing (curse you leather!!!).

The Savage Orc models are rather awesome but are you having any issues with the weird angles the arms attach at (well, weird compared to 40K Orks) ?

The arm angles really do suck on the Savage Orks which gave me a real issue with fitting a nob/boys arms to a savage and visa versa, it also gave almost a monopose appearance compared to the 40K counterpart. Fortunately thanks to a sharp knife, file and a small doze of GS I had left over I managed to get the joint better fitting what I consider a decent variety of poses.
The reconstruction of the shoulder can be seen in a couple of my Boyz/Yoofs in my blog, aswell as the WIP listing for the rest of my mob (I'm still missing a trukk but that'll come in time):
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/444306.page
Page 3 of my blog is the start of my Gorkamorka related exploits, the list there is nearly accurate but I changed it this evening to include another boy at the expense of the rokkit launcher (downgraded to scorcha)

Cheers guys, The face was done long before the rest of the model and I cant seem to get the paint across the rest of the model to pop quite aswell, it may take a revisit with another glaze or two in order to bring it out a little.

Looking good mate. Me and my brother are actually starting our own mobs to play some games this summer. I've done a lot of prep work/building/converting and I'm just waiting to finish Uni so I can get painting. I'll also be posting a full WIP blog with mob lists, profiles (for each of the boyz) and BatReps here on Dakka. Looking forward to it.
Where about in the UK are ya? Just incase we happen to be close enough for the odd game!

Reworking my mob list atm, desperately trying to squeeze a few more boys in and yet get by with just the one trukk. I'm down in Kent (Medway to be precise), there's a few gaming groups nearby but nothing gorkamorka atm. Automatically Appended Next Post: Got a better(ish) shot without a cluttered background and some editting, though photo composition is by no means my strong suit:

Cheers, had popped down to the local game store today in the hopes of securing a few bits I needed (primer, more green, a trukk) and left with only the greens since the rest was out of stock. Still I'm more thrilled with this guy than the local game shop
I've been working on making the red pop a little more and will post pictures up when satisfied.

Pity - a liiiiiittle bit too much of a trekk for the odd game unfortunately. I'm in Dundee (as you might have guessed...).
