2nd edition metals, despite your dislike of their historical nature, were still far better looking than the old RT era plastics. The Tallarn Missile Launcher guys were the reason I started playing guard, because they were so evocative. Watching Lawrence of Arabia, Enemy at the Gates, etc. gave me inspiration to convert and play more. Give me that over bland generic trooper every time.
