A few months ago i had the idea of building a skaven 40k army using all of the Ork Rules. I have spent the last few months converting and assembling the pieces. Basically i'm using skaven infanty and ork vehicles. I haven't done any modifications of the Vehicles but most of the infantry look very 40k.... bolters/flamers you know all that fun stuff. Basically I wanted to post here to see if anyone else has ever done this and to see what ideas i could possible get from the dakka community. Any advice would be appreciated

Post some pics and the help will flood in. Right now, its just words on a screen. Hard to get the juices flowing when you cant see anything.

They are only base coated right now so its kinda embarrassing to post but i'll work on getting some of them painted.

Its an interesting idea. Ive often thought about doing a 40k skaven army as I used to have a fantasy one. I would have done it with IG bodies mostly.

I thought from the thread title someone kitbashed Skaven and Orks together. I personally would like to see mutated Skaven/Ork hybrids.

There was a skaven space marine army done probably 2-3 years ago with Brown skin / hair, and yellow armor. It looked fantastic. There were not a lot of dynamic conversions from what I remember. Just a lot of attention to detail, and making sure the models looked the part. The paint job was pretty sweet though.

If you've got the parts, even the addition of DE hand weapons to the most recent Skaven sculpts make great Boyz. Here's an example I'm using for Inquisitorial troops (radical Xenos inquisitors, ahoy!)

I don't know if you've seen these guys or not, might be a nice addition to what you are working on.
