I still dont see how they can say they are going to be using 6th edition rules for 40k, considering the rumours are for a july realease, leaving only a month, if that, to learn a new ruleset, which might be completely different to 5th, surely that will mean their will be so many hold ups mid game as both players get a grips with 6th edition.

Not that I am complaining, just not sure if it is right that's all.

Either way I will most likely be going with grey knights.

I hope to see a few more dakka member attend to.

Yea, it is a bit far fetched on how their assuming 6th will be out in time for the tournament. I was thinking about bringing my orks along to the 40k one, but with not a lot of them painted I'll just stick with me dwarfs and FB.

Im in Hamilton at the moment for uni, but spend holidays in taupo, so will be a big drive down, looking forward to my first tournament though, and interested to see what the meta is like here in NZ.

If you're in Hamilton you might want to get in touch with the Immortals. They meet every Monday night except the last of the month and public holidays at the fishing club under the Grantham street bridge. If you head along you should be able to find a game or two.

How competitive are you looking to be?

Fantasy or 40k?

I mean for your fantasy dwarf army you are taking?

Well for Fantasy, I'm looking to be really competitive, but with Dwarfs, its an up hill battle, but a good army to get really good with .

I admire you for choosing a not so great army though, makes it more worth it when you win I guess

Well when I first started the army, I didn't realize on how low of the tier line they were, I just picked them for my love of all things Dwarf. See I'm a dreaded WoW player, and just simply love the Dwarfs, if any video game/Wargame gives me the options to pick dwarfs, I WILL!

But then I looked at the positives and saw that if I play a harder army, any other army that I play in the future will be easier.

In turn - Dwarfs teach people the art of deployment and movement (if we do any that is).

This has inspired me, maybe I will take my tyranids instead then, I just love the models more than anything else and I guess making and painting an army is more fun when you love the minis you are working on, screw grey knights and having a good chance of winning

Or maybe I should just start that orge army I keep having my eye on and just join you on the tables of fantasy, at least that way I can start my army now, rather than wait untill 6th to start a 40k army, effectively giving me a month to make, paint, and test out a 1500 point army lol
