OK - more questions!

A Dasyu Forward Observer is infiltrated up the battlefield and has LOF to the enemy.

The Dasyu Forward Observer is hidden though - he's not even a marker at this point!

Can he mark targets without revealing himself? I don't think so...

If he successfully marks a target, is he now a marker? Or, is he actually now forced to reveal himself as a miniature?

I think this is the case, though I'm not sure...

The only thing that won't reveal the model is a Move skill that doesn't require a roll.

Forward Observer is an attack (fully reveals the model) which involves rolling dice (fully reveals the model).

Generally what will happen is that the Dasyu will successfully mark the target due to the Combat Camo and then get get shot unopposed, again because of the Combat Camo.

That is also why Climb Plus is nice too. You don't need to roll a PH when you climb with a camo trooper.

If the Dasyus gets to mark the target then you will be able to shoot guided missiles at it. Automatic impact, gotta love it. Besides, any Speculative Shot (grenade launchers, grenades etc) will not get the -6 modifier to the roll

As you were on hidden deployment, the enemy miniature will only be able to do its ARO once you've finished your order because you will loose your CAMO status as the other mates pointed out, so it will not be a face-to-face roll.

Most of my Spec. Sergeants die like this (sometimes the TO saves them), mostly using the Forward Observer to mark TAGs or annoying remotes but then the marked miniature receives a bunch of guided missiles from the other side of the table, and he cannot do anything about it since TAGs or remotes don't have Sixth Sense (even though TAGs can disable missiles thanks to the ECM). It's worth the sacrifice

As others have said, yes it will reveal you and you have to pass your check like normal. however since it is being done as cambat camo attack (sneak attack) it will be a normal roll. This is a pro and a con because while your FO is a normal roll (and highly likely to succeed) the shota back at you will be as well.

GML is one of those Tactics that work obscenely well in new infinity communities. However once your play group picks up on it's weaknesses it gets a whole pile less effective.

An HMG Tomcat comes to my mind, as any other Airborne Infiltrator.... 4 HMG bullets right in the face of your remote and the whole strategy will fall apart (if the infiltrator doesn't get a crit ML impact... that's the nice point of this game )

Duroc, antipodes, anything with AD, anything fast with TO, impersonators, etc etc.

The problem with Guided is it has an obvious Achilles heel. For the dirty nomad trick kill the hacker or GMl bot, for forward observer centric GML kill the GML.

Just wait till your group learns the fun of the Sphinx, Caskuda, Cutter, triple impersonator, sepsitor, or Avatar.

Yup, that mofo is the only one who has that kind of ammo. I would love to have Sniper Rifle Guided ammo on PanO... killing asians curving bullets, "Wanted" style

Just the Haiduk at the moment, but you really pay through the nose for the GMSR. While the Haiduk may be more resilient I'd take a GML bot since for 1 less SWC you get a blast of explosive ammo.

Just the Haiduk at this time, although I could see it being a suitable future option for ALEPH.

So the only army to have one is the Combined Shasvastii and... there's no model for it?!?

I'm just going to use the malignos sniper. It's that and the Raicho I think are the only ones not done so far. The Haiduck would even count for all types of it as well. He only has regular or guided.

A good temporary 'counts as' solution, but it could cause some confusion - unless you don't use any other Malignos models in your army, of course!
