Hey guys,
at the GW they suggested a skrag-brown applied via a stippling brush to make a rust effect.
Just to give you the idea of what Im trying to accomplish, Im finishing a Necron Stalker and I am doing the bottom of the legs rusty to show that they are worn down etc. Anyways when i apply the skrag with the stippling brush, I just get this random 'dots' but it nowhere looks like a generic rust effect. Any advice ? Thanks

For that technique you need to apply the brown layer, then a red or orange rust layer followed by a light silver stippling effect to make it look worn.. Doing the single brown color does not have enough depth for it to look believable.

I achieved the rust effect on my models using the following technique.

Scorched brown watered down.
Firedragon orange watered down and dabbed into the brown.
seraphim sepia wash.
then chip away at the areas with boltgun metal to create a more dabbled effect
