Hi all! I recently played Arkham city and finished it, but Even after seeing the ending again, I just dont get it.

-Is Ra's al ghoul dead after that freefall?

-why was Harley Quin tied up?

-Did I just kill Solomon Grundy?

-Why didn't they put robin as a playable character? He is Batman's sidekick.

-why is Mr.Freeze so bi-polar ( )? one minute he is gladly helping you get a cure, the next he breaks said cure and demands he finds his wife, then he is sympathetic again.

-what was Ra's al ghoul's master plan?

-Who thought arkham city was a good idea?

-Is there a Red Hood? Who will be the next main villain? Hush?

-why did it all end in a church?

-Why did batman carry the joker in his arms like that? Why not drag him like a fresh kill and toss him on the police car?

-Why did the joker sing that song during the credits?

Probably not he can use Lazarus Pits to come back from the dead.
No idea, maybe it'll be explained in the DLC.
No, he can come back again and again...
He is in the challenge modes and IIRC he is rumoured to feature in future DLC.

That's Freeze's character. He does everything for his wife. Nothing else.
To kill all the criminals.
No one but the League of Assassins managed to get it pushed through using political connections and brainwashing.

Not AFAIK, though he might feature in later games if they go further with this.

Not sure about the church thing...
Maybe because there is a fair amount of religious theme to the entire thing...

There is recurring theme of Cain and Abel throughout the game (Batman/Joker) and there is a picture which mimics the final scene where Bats carries Joker out so that'd probably be why...

Batman was the only person that Joker felt understood him...
It's kinda touching really but in a way Batman was Joker's only 'friend'...

Probably. But ... Lazarus Pit. It's sort of Ra's thing. It isn't exactly the first time he's died.

Yeah. But again, it's Solomon Grundy. Dying and coming back is the whole thing behind his power. (He dies and comes back more powerful).

Umm, he's a batman villain? They pretty much spend most of their time in an asylum. Are you really surprised by this?

That was clearly explained to be one of the numerous phone messages that Joker left the Bat.

I agree the real question is why did he leave Talia.....

I did in fact play the game, just needed some things cleared up for my little mind.

And I believe Robin (or Nightwing?) Was unlockable for campaign mode if you pre-ordered the game, and those that bought it new get Catwoman (haven't played as her yet though).

Nope, he'll just go into another Lazarus pit and get even more deranged

Basically because joker concieved with her (check out the pregnancy test on the floor in that room)

You knocked him out, his *spark* can be transferred to a new pile of corpses. It's in the comic.

Robin is indeed DLC.

Mr Freeze again is working only to find a cure for his wife's illness and is only concerned with his wife's safety. (see comic book)

Essentially was going to kill all the criminals in the city, and then reopen arkham city I believe.

Hugo Strange masterminded the Arkham city operation to mentally control everyone there.

-Is there a Red Hood? Who will be the next main villain? Hush?
No idea. Hush has an open file though, so that is a possibility.

-why did it all end in a church?
???? The last fight was in the cinema (Jokers idea of a last show)

Essentially joker and Batman are both one and the same in a way, Batman can't exist without people like Joker.

Thanks for all the answers, wasn't too sure about most (dont really read comics) and missed some (Harley Quin was pregnant?!? So... so many disturbing images... )


And my question about Robin was not that heisnt in the game entirely (I have his DLC) it's why isn't he in the camping, like catwoman?

Robin is actually going to be in the DLC released at the end of this month.

The reason they did not, supposedly, want to use Tim Drake's Robin for the primary campaign is because of the fact that it would have been too much of a case of "different characters, same objective". With Catwoman and Batman, there's two notably divergent objectives to start with which culminate in a case of a shared objective at the end.

Honestly we don't know. Batman is psychologically questionable to say the least.

Essentially it's because both the Joker and Batman created each other. The joker initially created Batman, by slaying his parents (thats the *pay your respects achievement*), but then Batman knocked the joker into the chemical vat and acidically scarred his face.

So yeah, kind of both a love and a respect. Which is why Batman didn't kill the joker in the FIRST game.

Erm, yes I have. The mugger who shot Batmans parents was the JOKER before bruce turned him into the joker. I actually have the batman encyclopedia so I know what the feth I am on about.

Joe Chill Killed his parents. The Joker's canon background is that he was a small time crook posing as the Red Hood and he got pushed into a chemical vat, the first time he ever met Batman.

An interesting thing about batman carrying joker. The beginning of the game starts with a picture of Kain and Able, with Kain holding Able in his arms. The same position as Batman and Joker.

Well certainly at the end, I think the relevance of batman having *forgiven* joker is indeed referencing the biblical story of cain and Abel.

People have to pity Hugo Strange and Ra's Al Ghul

for all their planning and manipulation, for all their scheming and creating Arkham City

they still ended up as a sidestory to the ultimate Batman/Joker conflict.

They're like two GM's who plotted out everything only to have 2 players go off the rails so bad that everything they created didnt matter.

...I dunno if I really love that or hate that about the game.

in the comics(and Nolan movies) Joe Chill was the orphan-maker.

That is his actual origin. He was a small time crook who was coerced into becoming the red hood. Batman caught up to the raid they were doing on a chemical plant and he fell in.
