After some thought, I just cant decide what loadout makes the most of the eternals(immortals w/ the traveller) furious charge and counter attack. Gauss blasters do more damge within 12" which means the CA and FC are to give them some extra protection at close ranges. But tesla weapons are assault thus allowing the eternals to make use of FC after firing.... Perhaps a harbirnger of storm w/field or a tremortek w/crucible? A phaeron maybe? Thoughts?

Definitely the Tesla if you don't have a phaeron in the unit. Shooting a rapid fire weapon wastes the FC and CA, especially since you don't get FC when you CA.

It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

Tesla.
Hands down, every time.
(you want these guys mobile, not sitting still waiting for things to charge them)

Agreed on Tesla for the mobility. Gauss is more versitile as it can damage vehicles but really needs a Phaeron to be effective.

For fun games, consider taking a nightscythe, 10 gauss immortals, Illiminor serzas and ankyr. You can stick the illuminor in with them, and I believe any cryptek or lord joined will, since they are technically squad upgrades, get both serzas and ankyrs benefits.
Gauss Immortals benefit a lot more from furious charge counterattack and gaze of flame than most other sorts of units in the dex and you'll find that +1S/T/BS will go a lot farther with a rapid fire unit too, it's just too bad you can't also make them relentless too, for a really whacky good time.
For normal play, I'd be tempted to ignore his bonuses in army composition, and just run tesla as usual. By all means, play around the bonus though.

I often run this unit, too, and have found a Orb-Lord works best as an accompanying Court member.
(just wrote a "battle report" for them, too, lol)

I'll read it after I'm done day drinking today, should be fun. I love gauss immortals, they just get into situations they can't handle a lot or you miss their benefit, this loadout makes them super resilient. Like, who wants to charge that? The randomness of the effect also seems really fun.

A seimic crucible is great for any unit with rapid-fire I've found. "ok my terminators are gonna charge" "wait, they only charge 3", sorry, looks like they didnt make it" "b-but that means..." "yep, 30+ shots of rapid -fire glory"
