I actually have the models to field this or at least, I will, when I get the last 2 units of Runeshapers in a few days.

Doomshaper (+7)
Earthborn - 10
Slag Troll - 6
Krielstone Bearer + 5 scribes + elder - 5
Runeshapers - 3
Runeshapers - 3
Runeshapers - 3
Runeshapers - 3
Runeshapers - 3
Runeshapers - 3
Janissa - 3

Total - 35

Only tier 3, due to having a single dire troll instead of two. I could drop a unit of Runeshapers to upgrade the Slag to a Mauler, and be tier 4... but then I'd only get to place 2 walls instead of 3 (due to tier bonuses).

I think this list will definitely be able to deal with high DEF, but high ARM could be a problem. Trading in a unit of Runeshapers for the Mauler upgrade would probably help with that. Or trading 2 in for Mulg, but I'm trying to get away from using Mulg! And I'd like to have as many of those units as possible, giving me a full krielstone at the start of the game. With the Stone and the Earthborn animus + prevalent walls, the beasts should be at a solid +4 ARM

The slag troll is nice, because Doomshaper has so many anti-warbeasts spells, that the slag's ability to get an extra dice on his 2 ranged attacks against jacks makes the list a bit more "all comers".

Thoughts and tips appreciated

Problem is you run a lot of Runeshapers for the theme force benefit (fury on
the stone) and to have access to lots of tremors. However, their POW 14s
lack a boosting mechanism (to hit and to damage) and the best thing pdoomy
can give them is rerolls on attack dice.

I run the list with just two units of Runeshapers and throw in
Mulg and an Axer in place of the Slag. Getting to tier 4 is awesome for
the extra deployment and free fury, leaving Doomshaper with the option to
either throw up his upkeeps on turn 1 or spam Rush to get his heavies out
there even faster.

Your version of the list I wouldn't even know how to manage. Even at 50
points I only use 4 units. (only, hah)

The fury on the stone comes at tier 2, though- tier 4 just gives the extras 2" deployment zone (which is really nice!).

Interesting thoughts. For 50 points, I'd likely upgrade the Slag to a Mauler, and add Mulg for 3 heavies.

I'll definitely consider running this with only 4 units at 35 points, going with the Earthborn and Mulg. But then it lacks a damage buff, other than the elder's +1 STR ability. 5 units with Earthborn and Mauler is also a possibility, of course, as I was considering above.

I was thinking that really heavy targets could simply be forcelocked, to deal with the rest? And if they send in light stuff first, they'd get AOE'd to death. But I will think about putting in another heavy hitter, since I definitely feel like I'm lacking it!

Thanks for the thoughts
