Hello Dakka, I've just started collecting and I'm currently working on a Space Marine army. I chose marines because they appeal to me most and are a cheap and an easy army to start with, however I hope to branch out in the future (to Chaos SMs, Orks and Eldar). My collection is small at the moment with 2 tactical squads, a transport, an ironclad dread, a librarian and a captain (my profile image). I should be around Nottingham (UK) for the foreseeable future.

I'm choosing to base my first SM army around a combination of static defence and shock and awe. It will have a few tactical squads supported by Razorbacks set up as a gun-line and some hard hitting heavy units to take the fight up field. I've decided to paint my models as Imperial Fists 5th company.

As a side note I've read into the lore of the 40k universe and have familiarised myself with the core rules and SM rules in preparation for games and discussions.
