so with the tau when i hit a unit with my markerlight it gives me a counter that i can use to give the unit i shot at a -1 to that units cover save; now if i were to pin them with say a pulse carbine and succefully pin the unit would that minus to their cover save take away the save they get for going to ground?

are you going to keep talking about it, or do something already?

It would, but I'd read the rules for Markerlights more carefully if I was you. It sounds like you think you get all of the listed benefits, but you don't. You have to expend Markerlight hits to get those benefits (1 hit per benefit), and only the unit "spending" the hits gets the benefits.

Yeah I just reread that and fixed my previous post, thats cool though, sounds like a fun idea i might have to try using more...

Yeah, the -1 to cover saves applies to all cover saves regardless of origin. You can also apply them to the 3+ cover from a skimmer moving flat out, the cover from bikes turbo-boosting, Kustom Force Field, etc.

CHrysis - *4+* cover save for skimmers moving flat out, 3+ for bikes turbo'ing, and 4+ for a KFF with vehicles / 5+ for non-vehicles

The 3+ was only meant to be in reference to skimmers moving fast, but it's been a long time since I had a game and so am rusty on the specifics. Thanks for the correction there.

The point was that you dont get a 3+ for a skimmer moving fast, just a 4+. GK can manage a 3+ if they use "Shrouding" on the skimmer.
