Looks good, foreboding sense of darkness to it.

Spoiler:

IMO the coffins are other British ( possibly even 00 ) agents.

There's talk that we see Dench's "M" killed off in this one.

Looking like a good year for cinema this year.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Meh, still doesn't look especially bond-y.

Spoiler:
Also, how can this kill Dench's M? These films are set way before the others (in terms of the Bond timeline not the real world) aren't they?

Continuity is all blowed up in Bond films/books. It really doesn't matter that much.

Looked way better than Quantum of Solace was. Of course, that one suffered from some terrible editing/shaky cam/quick cuts. I hope they avoid that style for this one.

You taking that from the 'bond activated at the beginning of Casino Royale? Yes, Casino Royale was literary Bonds first mission, but most missions are in topsy turvy order, along with the actor changes the commonly accepted retcon is that Bond is an identity not a person. The best field operative becomes James Bond and absorbs his mannerisms as part of the identity. Likely in order to provide a high profile agent, presumably to let others do the real work, and partly because of his killer rep. Felix Leiter is handled the same way. If a Felix Leiter introduces himself a Bond it automatically means 'I have been sent by Langley to assist you' plus whatever else that means.
They have probably got through a number of Bonds, some retire, some die.

Therefore there can be a direct continuity from older films. With a new Bond replacing the old.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/s7/doctor-who/news/a379676/james-bond-series-regenerates-like-doctor-who-says-sam-mendes.html

The Skyfall director said that the way in which each Doctor regenerates into a new character is similar to each incarnation of Bond.

The comparison arose when Mendes discussed the one-off George Lazenby Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which he compared to Skyfall in terms of making James Bond more "human" and closer to Ian Fleming's novels.

Speaking about the 1969 film, he told Collider: "It's commonly considered a neglected classic, and I think it is. I think it's where you see him, as a character, pushed to the edge because he does fall in love and he loses her.

"I think that Lazenby was dealt a pretty cruel hand because he was following [Sean] Connery who they just did a home run the first time they got to bat. And then they asked him to do strange things which I thought spoke a little bit of their insecurity, for example, right at the beginning, he turns to camera and says to camera, 'That wouldn't happen with the other guy'.

"They were playing almost embarrassment, almost apologised for having a new Bond and I thought that was wrong, and I thought what they got right was Casino Royale.

"There was a kind of 'We don't need Q, we don't need Moneypenny. We've got this character. We're going right back to basics. He's real, he's in a real situation. Let's start all over again'. I thought that was very refreshing."

He added: "That's why I mentioned the word in the press conference, 'regeneration' rather than 'evolving', because I feel it is like, you know, we have Doctor Who and I was brought up on the idea of Doctor Who, who at the end of his final episode, he dissolves and a new actor pops up and he regenerates and it's a whole other character.

"Sometimes it's an old man, sometimes it's a young man, but he just changes. I've always loved that idea."

Skyfall is due to be released on October 26 in the UK and November 9 in the US, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond and Dame Judi Dench as M alongside Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes.

Daniel Craig recently said that Skyfall will have "very funny" dialogue.

... In all honesty continuity in Bond films isn't something I worry about too much.

Continuity between Bond's is murky at best, with most separate actors being in separate film world's with the occasional wink and a nod to previous Bond film's, though not always. The only thing commonly accepted is that there is no agreement on the subject.

The longest through line, at best, is from Dr. No up to the end of Roger Moore's tenure. This is using some very oblique nods to earlier films and assumming you count On Her Majesty's Secret Service as being canon, which some don't for various reasons, as well as both Diamonds Are Forever which again, some don't.

After Moore any pretense, if there was much of one before, as it seems dependent on the whims of the screenwriter whether they wanted to make reference or not, went out the window with Dalton taking over the role.

I think people often confuse filmmakers recognizing the character's film history with some odd real world continuity. By having Moore toss what appears to be Blofeld into a tower are they saying this is the same Bond or killing off the old one and starting new? There is evidence to support, at best, a soft continuity, but also enough to say that it isn't that clear or even that important either.

Part of the point of the Craig films is to take that big jumbled mess of sorta-continuity-but-not-really and set everything back to zero, not be part of it.

Teaser looks spiffy, can't wait to see the full trailer.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

the same with M and Q. I think that idea is even stronger with those two anyway so Judi dench dying wouldn't be too big a loss to the universe
