Subject: Battlefronts Fallschirmjager Pioneer Company Question

I just purchased a blister, was gluing men to those bases and several questions came up.
The appears to come with an assortment of figs carrying explosives. Some on poles, others circular like some form of mine. I was considering using one of these guys on the command bass to show the belong with the pioneers. Does anyone think this will cause. Confusion? As long as I don't use a panzerfaust?
My second question is about the flamethrowers. For Germans, one flamethrower would be on an infantry base? The blister was for 2 squads and cam's with 2 flamethrower figs.
Thx again.

Those basically represent the addition explosives and tools Pioneers carry with them. Its why they are Tank Assault 4.
Yes, Flamewherfers go on infantry bases.

Sorry to hijack this a bit, but after the flamethrower has been used - is the whole stand removed from the game and that's it? Or it is replaced by normal MG team?

Yes, the stand is sent to the rear. They don't count as a casuality if removed in this manner. I don't think they count as being alive either.

Thanks! So is it worth it, considering that You essentially loose 1/2 of the squad after using it?

They are basically a suicide squad that you use to damage a position before assaulting with another unit, like a platoon of FJ.
The flamethrower does auto-pin a unit in addition to allowing no saves. and with Veteran users they can kill a few of the enemy.

FJ Pioneers and their flamethrowers actually are pretty decent though.
The unit starts at 9 stands. Even after firing three flame throwers, you are left with asix stand unit, which is where Heer and SS start at anyway.
There is also utilty in the flamethrowers being able to prevent armored units from conducting defensive fire if they hit a tank.
I find they are best used in getting to grips with things like HMG units, or dug in AT gun teams, especially if you want your limited armor to support a close by attack.
Best luck I has with them was having the unit come out of ambush, hitting a platoon of shermans with three flame throwers, causing 3 to not being able to defensive fire and the remaining one to not be able to pin, then finishing them off in assault.

So i would use one flamer fig per infantry base?
@Shogun I thought one flamed per squad may be worth it cause of the extra starting squad with the Fallschirmjager.
Thanks for the reply everyone.

I believe the upgrade is one stand per squad, so 3 Flame throwers in a full sized platoon. One dude with Flamethrower and a couple buddies supporting him. I just put 2 extra dudes on mine to make it easier to spot.

Thanks for clarification everyone as well. I was actually considering flamethrowers for Heer versions, where they come in 1:2 ratio unlike with FJ.

You don't have to take all the flame throwers you can just upgrade one or two squads.
