Work keeps me busy, but I do love to ignore my fiance and spend my free time painting things My latest work, Fenrisian Wolves which I tested a fur coat color scheme for my next project, Thunderwolf Cavalry. These are also my first bases using Woodland Scenics snow and I love it much better than the GW "white grass". I'm still working on my whole picture taking skills, I almost find that tougher than painting!

Thanks guys! I think I'm going to be using this fur coat scheme, though probably a bit darker for the Thunderwolves.

They look better than the GW paint job. Which in my opinion is a great thing to have done. Great job can't wait to see more.

Any chance you'd post a color and method breakdown?

Sure! I went pretty simple on the colors here, I just used grey, white and black with an airbrush. I've got a variety of Reaper paints that I used for this. I started off with a white basecoat and started building out a pattern on the coat for the grey. I built on that with two to three layers of deeper shades of gray to a very dark gray, but not full black. The airbrush helped out with getting finer details done, especially around the face.
I painted the eyes, mouth/teeth, paws and nose with a brush and then gave the figures a wash in sepia. It's a bit hard to see in the pictures but it gives them nice light brown patches on their fur along the white areas. I also gave it a black wash in some of the darker grey areas.
I finished it up with some drybrushing to highlight a little bit of the fur as well as to bring the white back out on the legs, face and tail. It was pretty helpful taking a look at a bunch of reference photos of wolves to get the coat design I wanted.
I hope that made some sense!

These look awesome my friend. It is hard to find wolves painted in the gray/white color scheme. Most impressive work brother.

Very fearsome, realistic looking wolves. Splendid job on the basing, as well.
