! unit max, plus as many ICs as you can find seats for.

A Combat Squadded SM unit can only fit 1 of the 2 parts in, no matter than they could all fit before being split up. They're 2 units now.

Wait, but what if its not a dedicated transport? Land Raiders can carry more than 10 people, so can you stick in 2 5-man squads?

No, the only exception for the rule that you cannot have 2 units in the same vehicle is in Appocalypse, and only for Super Heavy transports.

As well as storm ravens, they can hold 12 models and a Dreadnaught.

Well, you could have 2 melta SWS squads. That would let you fire 5 melta shots a turn out of the hatch, and you even have a spare meltagun in case one somehow died.

You could also do 2 democharge SWS's with a vendetta, which would give you essentially two S8 AP 2 Large Blast Barrages that could score...

yeah, I can't see this being abused at all

It's probably for the best that they stay one unit max for now, as much fun as it'd be to mix and match units in transports. Using a single chimera to cart around a CCS and a HWS/ SWS escort would be neat for example. Probably not very useful in game, but neat nonetheless.

I believe you mean 6 democharge SWS's (3 each), that is 6 S8 Ap2 Blasts being flown wherever need be and Boom! No more of what was there before you dropped them.

Then you lack imagination. Say hello to the 2x HWSs chilling out in a chimera and shooting 21 heavy bolter shots for 225 points. Or, for the same points, 10 autocannon shots and 6 heavy bolter rounds.

Or, for the low, low price of 140 points, you get a tank that can drive up and shoot 7 flamer templates at something, two of which are heavy flamers to boot.

Did I mention that they count as scoring as well?

And the guard aren't the only abusers here.

Perhaps make house rules where certain units can share certain transports, obviously set up in such a way to prevent abuse. So perhaps a HWS and a CCS escort to give it BID or FOMT, isn't really OP because they will never completely fill the same role (orders and short to mid range special weapons for the CCS, long range firepower for the HWS).

I think the most hilarious use of a 2-squad chimera is five mortars firing out the back.

That would be funny looking, a budget basilisk.

Hrm...Minimum squad size on Trueborn is 3, you could load a Raider with ten Blaster-equipped people.
