I was looking at my friends inquisitorial henchmen list and their entry in the go codex and I was intrigued by the crusader acolyte. Non super human crusaders, I love the crusader house lore and I love the idea of a guardsman Stat line with a storm shield!

With coteaz, and between the six troop slots and three elite slots, I can have upward ls of 108 stormshield wielding crusaders for just about 1750 points. That's awesome. And I could represent psyflemen dreads or of a heavier variant with "knight class" sentinels.

My only big problems are the models, GW only produces two models for crusaders and I have no idea where to start on the models except maybe kit bashing brettonian knights and guardsmen.

Any ideas? What do you guys think?

NOTE: not necessarily for competetive purposes.

Why not Brettonian Men at Arms and just redo thier weapons. You get the middle ages knight look. My question is what are you going to use for Cortez, to stay with the knight theme. Sounds cool. Hope to see more.

Thats an idea, as for coteaz I may just use the model they have and paint him up in Templar colors as this house is pledged to my BT army. Ill probably start them up after I finish off my 2500 BT list.

Can you have Henchmen in Elite slots if you take Coteaz? I was under the impression you were limited to 6 troops choices of Henchmen with Coteaz and were no longer able to take them as Elites...

Then again, I've been wrong before!

Dogs right, they only count as Troops. So 72 Storm Shields in the army. You could take Paladins and convert them as Heavy Armour Knights...

Thanks for the heads up!

I figure if i use the men at arms body, and than maybe toss some FW Elysian heads on them they'd look well enough, or maybe Bret knight heads as well.

Reminds me of my idea for a Lost and the Damned-ish army using the Henchmen rules. Would've used Chaos Warriors for Crusaders and Daemonettes for DCAs. I'd like to see some test models using Men at Arms and 40k bits!
