So I play Space wolves as of right now and i'm thinking of picking up a second army and necrons really look pretty cool. I do play in a lot of tournaments and would like some help with lists. Preferably 2000 pt lists. So are warriors still the best troop choice? Monolith, are they still scary? Seem like a lot of people have two or three ghost arks in there list. Are they really that good? Thanks!

Necrons are flexible but there are some basic choices you need to make.

All out firepower or mix.

Warriors or Immortals.

Royal courts or not.

Maximum regen or not.

A good example would be -

1 Necron overlord Phaeron with res orb.
20 Necron Warriors
3 x 8 Necron warriors
3 x ghost arks
6 x cryptek with lance.

This is going to have a big block of warriors that can fire every turn. The 3 ghost arks allows you 3d3 recovery and the resorb means they are coming back on 4+. This lacks in heavy firepower but it has a bunch of firepower and good recovery from fire..(Say your 20 warriors lose 18 in one fire phase... average is 9 stand up on we'll be back and 6 will get recovered due to being close to the 3 gost arks.

There are a lot of ways to set up necrons but you have to provide a sense of what you want. Counter attack, C'tan fun, deathmark fun, solar pulse fun... etc.

Monolith has lost their original role.
Which was to drop in middle of enemy and just ruin enemy formations.

Now its very vulnerable to meltas, you can still deep strike it, but always use portal to teleport in supports.
