So I switched to Khador after losing nearly 75% of my games with Retribution.

Well I am 0 for 5 with Butcher. I am quite aggressive with him....and I find timing his Feat to be very tricky...

Anyone have tactics that they are successful with when using Butcher?

Hey!

Dont get discouraged, this is just how beggining with any Warmahordes faction tends to work out. I usually tell new players that you are going to lose 80% of your first games, and Its gonna take about a year to learn all the rules of your faction. Dont switch caster too much and try to get about 20 games in with a list once you have it dialed in.

Sme good tips with the Butcher is to use the Wardog. He will give you +2 DEF in Melee. Added in with the DEF bonus of Iron Flesh makes you almost onkillable. For units I like Winter Gaurd and Iron Fang Pikeman. For Begginers I would recommend the Winter Gaurd, You will get alot of use in other list as well. Always take the solo Kovnik Grigorovich and the ubit attatchment. Iron fleshed and toughed Wintergaurd will Tarpit so the butcher can get up into position tho use hiss feet

Alwys be aware of what things have the ability to kill the Butcher and make those your priority targets..

Re: Feat timing.

It's one of the difficult things to get right with a lot of casters but Butcher1's is slightly easier I think. Use when you can get most of your models to hit theirs, either by shooting or melee. Now, if it's Butcher2 you are using things change slightly. You'll want that extra move and attacks for the assassination run, either with Butcher or a warjack. There my knowledge fails.

What are you running with the Butcher? ICleadpeople gives good advice for Butcher1 but I'm unsure if Butcher2 works well with those guys.

The list I was running with on the weekend for 50pt was:

pButcher
Behemoth
Sylys Wyshnaller

Man-O Kov
w/ Devestator

Min Demo Corp
Max Shocktroop

Max Winterguard w/UA
Kov Joe
Widowmakers

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Provided I can make it this weekend - we have a 25pt Mangled Metal with 1 solo tourney.

I was thinking of taking:

Butcher
Behemoth
Juggernaught
Devestator
and Sylys

Plan of attack for this - basically run the deve up using it and the jugg to block the behemoth and butcher, while Behemoth bombards from behind.
Sylys will be used for the free upkeep and arcane secrets when blasting off a caster obliteration.

Anyone see flaws in this tactic? Or things I could do differently to be effective?
