I was just wondering. I was digging through my box-o-bits and found a CSM head that looks straight up like Bane from The Dark Knight Rises... which is inspiring me to make a 40k version of Bane (you may laugh if you so desire, Bane will break your spine). Anyway, I was looking for some unit with bare arms, I saw on GW one SM scout has bare arms and if push comes to shove i may use that, but I'm wondering if Catachan arms will work (and look good) with a SM torso. Thanks for any and all advice (also, if you have suggestion for another set of arms that'll work, I'm all ears).

I've used Chaos Marauder arms from the Warhammer fantasy sprues. I don't know how they compare to catachans, but the ones I used worked fantastically. In addition, if you want, beastmen of Chaos heads make AWESOME converts to Khorne! Possible idea for Bane's retinue.

Yeah, Chaos Marauder arms work a little better than Catachan arms:



Catachan Command Squad or Heavy Weapon squad arms work ok as well, as they're a little less over-done (and slightly better sculpted) than the regular squaddie arms.

Having said that, if you're after a Bane stand-in, maybe the regular Catachan arms would be best, as they are suitably over-buffed.

it kind of depends how you wanna make bane.
if you wanna make him in pretty much regular propositions you can do the above.
if you want to make bane high on steroids, you can maybe use a beastmen torso and arms

I support the Marauder arms; IG are TINY BABY MEN compared to Space Marines. Even Rambos in space are TINY BABY MEN.

I think it'd look weird. But y'know, I've never seen a Catachan and a Space Marine in the same place before... Since it's Bane, add some Daemon Prince arms and you're done. Also, bonus points if you do his big chem-injector looptube things.

Oh oh! If you just so happen to have Dark Eldar Wrack bits, that might work...

I know this is threadcromancy but I gotta ask, I tried bane (who is in termi armor) with DP arms and well... way too big. How well do you think beastmen arms would work?

So would beast men arms work better? Still big but not overly so?

I would definitely check out chaos spawn arms. There are a couple of big, beefy arms in there, but they are not quite as huge as DP arms.

what about Ork arms?

Ended up going with Fantasy Ogre arms, works perfectly.
