Are there many books regarding the RG? I know there is "Ravens Flight" (opinions?) but is there any other, perhaps regarding Corax?

Thanks

There is 'Deliverance Lost'. It is part of the Horus Heresy series. Its...well, its a mediocre book of the series. Its an alright read though, I went in expecting to get some enjoyment out of it and wasn't dissapointed. It wasn't as bad as Battle for the Abyss *shudder*

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Deliverance Lost is a love/hate novel really, some like it, others dislike it.
I thought it was good, but noticeably flawed.

There was recently a limited edition Raven Guard book, but I just checked BL and it's sold out.

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."
- Roboute Guilliman

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

The Raven Guard got a few 'audio dramas' ( Ravens flight, helion rain , ..) , a battle of the space marines books half ( hunt for voldorius ie a extended codex story ), a HH era novels half ( Deliverance Lost ) and the limited BL book ( unkindness of ravens ).

Corax shows up rarely and as he doesn't get anything beyond 2-3 lines in HH novels and a few pages in DL plus the RF 'drama' its hard to find fluff of him.

What?

I've just finished reading Deliverance Lost. Corax takes up a huge part of the novel, moreso than any other primarch in the HH novels that I have read thus far.

Deliverance Lost is one of those books I had to force myself to finish. I do not care for Gav thorpes writing ability (lack thereof?).

Still, it's got some interesting fluff tidbits, but are so ham-handedly given, even those nearly failed to keep me going.

The Heresy series reached a new low here.

It won't stay this way if you read them all...

Spoiler:

Corax got a chance to rebuild his Legion...or not. Corax was able to withdraw from isstvan...or the Normal humans lend a hand and the AL made it possible.. Corax had a shot at killing Lorgar...and curze ruined it. Add his arrival at Deliverance and thats his whole fluff.

Where is anything of him pre-istvaan?

Yeah, Deliverance Lost was better written than Battle for the Abyss, but that doesn't say much. I didn't have any problem with the characterization,it was just that the story was so... meh.

Sadly, in trying to give every Legion some spotlight, the quality is declining. The fact is, the Raven Guard, Salamanders, and Iron Hands weren't important to the Heresy. They were all but wiped out (heck, in the fluff from the original Space Marine game rulebook, the loyal Chapters on Istvaan V were completely destroyed) at Istvaan V, and played no big part in the rest of the Heresy. To give fans of those Chapters some material, they've been inventing new stuff, and well, it hasn't been very good. The Iron Hands story from The Primarchs is a pretty good example. It's completely pointless and a throwaway story. It wasn't badly written, it just painfully obvious that it was written as filler and because the Iron Hands don't do anything else during the Heresy except die horribly.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?
