Subject: The Dragon Returns [Castlevania] Lords of Shadow II; Mirror of Fate
We get a video of Gabriel single-handedly destroying an army of knights. He uses a whip made out of red energy. He then drinks one of the knight's blood and turns into a dragon made out of smoke in order to battle a massive automaton of siege engines. Finally, the knights are all dead, and a white-haired warrior appears to challenge Gabriel, making him smile.
The story blurb indicates that you will play Gabriel, a weakened vampire who must regain his powers as the Belmonts attempt to hunt you down. How any of this ties in to the epilogue of Lords of Shadow is ... unclear.
Most interestingly, the story blurb states that this game will be the conclusion to the Lords of Shadow series. Considering that Lords of Shadow was a Castlevania reboot, I suppose that means we can look forward to another reboot.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, it seems that Mirror of Fate, the upcoming 3DS title, will also be part of the Lords of Shadow sequence:

I was thinking that as well, being a long, white haired sword wielding character, but it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense chronologically.
I have been reading some theories online and one of them sort of explained how it could be him.
Spoiler:
Gabriel is in the process of becoming Dracul, when he was still with Marie, they may have had a child. Their relationship is never really fully explained. The silver haired guy could be Gabriels son, Alucard. He could also just be one of the Belmonts, which would make it very interesting.

Spoiler Free: Yes.
Spoiler style:
Spoiler:
First DLC has that Vamp Kid Lady call Gabriel back to the castle to help her defeat a very grave threat, a daemon that is as powerful if not more so than Satan. After helping her through three levels of the Castle, Gabriel finds out the truth; the Daemon is still in it's "Prison cell", which no human can enter. The Vampiress tells him to drink her blood, so as to be able to enter. She is willing to make this sacrifice, as she wants to die and the Forgotten One is far more important than one life anyway. So at the end of it, he becomes a Vampire.
The Second DLC, takes place wholly in the Cell, with the Daemon breaking seals by sending about 70% of it's power to them. If the Forgotten One spots Gabe while he has all of his power, he instakills Gabrial. While fighting the Forgotten One, Gabe basically does a few quick time events which break his armor, allowing Gabe to hurt his weak innards. After the fifth one of these, The Daemon destroys the final Seal, and starts to call it's power back. Gabe, however, Intercepts this power, and instakills the Forgotten One as it begs for mercy. So that's how he becomes super powerful.
And at the end of it, Gabe breaks the Vampire Killer and leaves it in that "Prison".
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
Interesting quotes from Dave Cox about Mirror of Fate:
We didn’t want to do a Metroidvania because one of the things about the Metroidvania series is the games start out bloody hard because you haven’t gotten anything. By the end of the game, you have everything and are super powerful. We really want to have a game that starts out really easy and gets tougher, tougher, and tougher. Exploration has been beefed up for sure, but we don’t want to have a game where you run around collecting loads of things. We want to tell a story. We want players to enjoy the adventure.
At the end of Lords of Shadow, you may remember [Gabriel] becomes the prince of darkness. We know now, he had a son with Marie, so Trevor starts the linage of Belmonts and Mirror of Fate is about that story. Once that tale is told, we’re done with the saga. [...] We always saw this as the torch being passed to us. We don’t own Castlevania. We aren’t holders of the key. We’ve got it at the moment. We have a story to tell. We don’t want to keep regurgitating something after this. We want to tell our story and let someone else have a go.
Cox says LoS DLC was rushed and that rushing it was a mistake. Looking ahead, he says DLC "has to compliment the main game-not be a continuation of the main story but more of a side story." It is kind of stupid that the pivotal moment in the LoS series is found in the DLC ... On the plus side, seems that Mercury Steam has a good handle on what DLC should be, as opposed to what it is (cough EA).

Cox wrote:You will play as the ultimate vampire badass and it's going to be epic. Do you hear me, it's going to be fething epic, Dave. If you like Legacy of Kain - you will love Lords of Shadow 2. You may not necessarily agree with what Dracula's doing but you'll certainly understand how he got here, and that's what we're going for.
